So I finally decided to refinish my Enfield no. 1, did I do good /k/?
Not bad. what glass?
Nice man, the high gloss is cool.

Looking good, now cut down that diet and get some more pt in.

A weaver k3, i like the look so i plan on keeping it
>>33221996
This, also did you have to tap the receiver for the mount? I have a no 1 mk 3 in it's original configuration, and is like to see how it shoots with some glass, I just won't do it if I have to permanently modify the gun.
>>33222037
Haha good one, i'm actually in fine shape but holding the thing in one hand smooshed the fuck out of my hand for some reason
>>33222081
It is tapped but i didn't do it myself, i inherited the gun from my grandmother who used it for hunting
Also would any of you anons know how i could mount an original enfield web sling to this thing? I don't have the sling swivels they are studs. pic related

Your grandma sounds pretty badass if she used an enfield to hunt.
>>33222147
I know, unfortunately i never got to meet her or i'd ask her a lot about the old thing
>>33222144
You can't. If you want an actual real Enfield then buy one that isn't raped to hell by bubba.
>>33222238
Any particular reason why? There are still mounting holes for swivels on the sporter forestock, theres just no groove on the butt for the rear swivel
>>33222144
You get a sling swivel and mount it to the stud.
Enfield slings fit the regular hunting swivels.
>>33222278
>>33222238
I have seen single screw swivels but i dont think they're original, for the no1mk3 anyway
>>33222305
So you're saying any generic swivel would work? If thats the case that's what i'll do
>>33222307
>>33222278
Not only is it a totally different style, you don't have a front band so it's useless.
>>33222363
Yes.
This is the style I'm using. Will fit pretty much every sling stud.
>>33222387
That's what i was afraid of, i'm going to get a proper forend and topwood eventually but for now i'll try running a generic loop trough the studs
>>33222415
God i'm a retard. Thanks a bunch anon.

I know a lot of people who hunted with sportered Enfields. After WWII, there were companies who bought them from the governments of the world for pennies, cut them up and then sold them as a budget rifle to hardware stores and sporting goods places. You could buy them for $10-$15 which is about $100-$150 in today's money. My uncle still has Grandpa's P14 Enfield durr rifle though he doesn't shoot it.
