What's the best cheap AR? I would be using it for HD and shtf or whatever. I only have a glock 19 and Glock 43 right now, no long guns.
All I know of right now are the DPMS oracle, the Rock River one, and the MP sport. I don't know shit about AR's, I would like to mount a flashlight though.

ruger or m&p15 or palmetto freedom line (not ptac)
So, uh....what's the best AR for a 1000-1400 budget?

What can I expect to pay for these?
Del-ton has a decent line in the $400-500 range for starter rifles.
Norinco

I bought my DPMS in 2012 and its been nothing but good to me. No issued whatsoever. Shot the shit out of the barrel with Tula ammo, dropped the new barrel in - 100% reliable.

they had DPMS ones for $409 last year. Labor Day sale IIRC.
>tfw brand new DPMS a few months before election for ~430 after transfer fee
mp sport ii or ruger 556 for carbine length gas system on 16" barrel (ie not optimal)
best value is the aero ac15m, it's like $550 and has a mid length

prob a BCM RECCE 14.5 or 16"
If I wanted to buy a fully-assembled budget AR15, I'd buy the v2 M&P Sport. The v1 was great, the v2 just has a couple improvements.
I wouldn't buy the Ruger. The included trigger is shit & the front sight post is weird.
Personally, I would rather build a lower & buy an assembled upper that had what I wanted (or close to it) already installed. $700 or $800 here gets you a nice rifle that you won't need to swap parts on anytime soon.
If I were spending ~$1000, I guess I would again build my own lower and buy a nice BCM upper to drop on it.
Budget higher than that and you're getting close to gucci and may as well pick up a Daniel Defense or something.

How does their BCM M4 Mod 2 Carbine compare to that one? From what I can see they are very similar in price, with the only visible difference being that one doesn't have any sights.
