it's super clean and accurate, but it is minor power factor so it doesn't mimic or print like SD loads, even 115 grain ones.

Nothing special but I found these in the back of the safe the other day. No idea how old they are, but 20+ years for sure. Box on the left is 8mm Mauser, and only cost $1.08 from the local kmart. How old you you figure those are?

Cor-Bon loads, including the OG JHP loads cut their teeth in the late 90s/early 2000 slaying the fuck out of pavement apes.
>>
>>33209700
>>33209742
Also Cor-Bon loads are considered "hot" like underwood or buffalo bore, but Cor-Bon were the guys doing it first, even if they might not be tip of the spear these days their tech is still dead nuts fucking proven.

I just wish as a company they would play around with more bullets, right now they only build with the ORIGINAL simian sleeper - Sierra non-bonded JHPs, Barnes all copper projectile and the Glaser Power ball projectile
>>
>>33209700
>>33209742
>>33209801
>>33210005

So, just to surmise, I have a fancy for them because they are like gold dots, they are not a "gel test only" load they have killed the fuck out of a ton of people and it's recorded data.

Anecdotal? Sure, but I think there's a point where real world, individual dynamic cases take precedent over abstract theorcrafting metrics.
>>
>>33210005
Just go to underwood and get the best ammo on the market. Technology is not a brand
>>
>>33210072
In the end, without trying to undermine my own thread, I think we split a lot of hairs with ammo selection and caliber choice. Shot placement right?

So on paper the high tech underwood stuff edges out the cor-bon loads, but I like the prestige of the cor-bons and I'm not sure we could really measure or quantify the performance variation when the bullets are entering bodies.
>>
>>33210112
yeah but i'm not the one bitching about how you wish that x company would do y thing with z bullet.

I just said buy the best, technology is brandless
>>
>>33209433
>Moose
>Lightbulb Heads
Minnesota, lol.
>>
>>33210143
Gotcha, wasn't trying to bitch.

Just think it would be neato to see a cutting edge cor-bon load

To take the piss and fun out of the thread I'm actually on the hunt for many boxes of 124 grn HST simply because I've found a good consistent price on 124 grn FMJ target rounds and I can finally train with 124 grain cost effectively that prints in the same place...

That was worded poorly, basically cheap 124 target ammo has encouraged me to invest in a lot of 124 defensive loads
>>
>>33210182
I like shooting 124gr nato on the range. I go with underwood because they have every bullet you can think of. ammo tests tell me that lehigh shit is outperforming HST so I switched to it

> they are not a "gel test only" load they have killed the fuck out of a ton of people and it's recorded data
So have FMJ .25acp and .32acp. Doesn't mean it's smart to carry them.

At the end of the day, the truth that matters is how many people are shot in the chest with [load] and live. And of the top dozen hollowpoints on the market, the difference is negligible.
>>
>>33209248
I can second this. I shoot brass 7.62x39 at my local indoor range that doesn't allow steel. I bought 1000 rounds of geco brass 7.62x39 for like 360 or so. Also bought so .357 target ammo from geco. They are great and cheap.

Basically if you swiss cheese the high thoracic cavity or the brain stem you are going to end a life, almost inarguable.

>>33210204
Are you using the screwdriver loads? They definitely look good in gel tests, I'll wait until a few dozen people have been shot with them.

I hate shit states that make carrying illegally in to a felony...it's too much without the additional of an actual crime.

Despite a bunch of dumb fuck laws in the South West they get it right with illegal carry, for instance in my state it's a petty misdemeanor - the equivalent of jaywalking

I didn't know that was a thing. I always just thought you were fucked going through a state like new york.

Seems like you should be able to carry on interstates since they are federal. Similar to how desegregation was enforce on interstates in the south because it was federal law and the state's couldn't do anything about it.
>>
>>33211275
yeah if you can reasonably articulate that you are moving you should be able to transport restricted weapons...

That said NY or MA cops will still lock you up for weeks and force you to spend dosh on a lawyer to get free, legality aside.

Also good luck retrieving your guns if shit like that ever happens.

I have an original box of Black Talon 10mm's that I carry in my Gen2 first month production Glock 20.

Great-granddaddy bought the gun and the ammo at the same time. Receipt shows two boxes, has one full box left. Shot a tweeker home invader back in 95 when I was a kid. Was staying at great-grandparents house and slept through the entire thing. Three shots, three hits, dude died damn near instantly.

>Mauser Ammo from Interarmco of Alexandria VA
Interarms was a surplus arms importer in business from the 1960s to mid 1990s so that stuff was probably sold at least 25 yrs ago. Who knows when Interarms actually imported it though, it could be 60 or 70 years old.

I wish interarms was still in business and bringing in weird surplus but that was before Alexandria was more affluent.
