So whatever the hell happend to the 60 round quad stack (not a drum) magazine that Magpul was inventing for us?

The guy I talked to at the magpul booth at shot just said that they couldn't ever really get it to work amazingly. He also said that the D60 exists now so there really isn't much of a point for them.
Is the drum decent? Shits too expensive to buy if it's a lemon

It's the best of the extended-capacity AR mags on the market (including the Surefire coffin mags). It's still not as reliable as a 30-round mag though.
What if we invented a firearm that fed from two coupled double stack magazines?

Their 40 is in their words the bestmag they ever produced. Dang I guess the quad really was vaporware (from them).
The key would be the indentation that forces the two rows to combine into the single row, chaos theory, just a hair's difference can make or break something.
For AK dudes they've got 50 round quad stacks but no telling if you could get them.
The spectre M4 had the best (50x9mm) but that didnt involve a curve.
Surefire? yeahhh... suuure... it fires...

More consistent spring pressure from first to last round in the magazine.

Really? that's pretty interesting. haven't bothered doing the math but usually adding rounds makes life harder.
They were gonna call it the MAGsada but instead will hand it over to bushmaster to do nothing with it

It didn't work.
While we're on the subject of mags that kinda vanished from the scene of reality, whatever happened with the .308 hexmags? I asked on their facebook and they said it was in the works but that was over a year ago.
