How would you store a 1911 for home defence?
>>
>>33203034

One carried in my anus so I would have it at the ready at any moment.
>>
Round in the chamber. No safety. Cocked. Laid under pillow while I sleep. If you do it and NG, you're an idiot.
>>
In the trash where it belongs
>>
>>33203034
I keep one in my desk drawer while I shit post.
>>
I'd store it on my person, bedside table for sleeping, etc.

Use .45 Super maximum expansion. 10mm power.

Also, this

>>
Sitting loaded on a table illuminated by candle light next to a bottle of liquor with classical music softly playing in the background
>>
>>33203143

BOUGHT SOME .45 SUPERS GLORIOUS HAND-CANNON LIKE POWER

I SUGGEST HORNADY +P XTP FOR CARRY SUPER WOULD BE OVERPOWERED UNLESS YOU EXPECT ARMOR OR SHOOTING THROUGH THINGS
>>
>>33203034
Chambered, cocked, safety on, holstered on nightstand. That's how the gun is designed to be carried.
>>
>>33203154
Anon you are turning me on. Stop it.
>>
>>33203165

10mm power with the 1911 platform is one hell of a combo. Its hard to beat.

Traditional, stylish, reliable, and aftermarket parts galore.
>>
>>33203034
Buy a .357 Magnum, load it. Keep it next to the .45.
>>
>>33203512
not this anon, but concurrence re-rolling for dubs.
>>
>>33203097
>No safety
I too want a hole in my head
>>
>>33203034
>home defence
>handgun
What's the point?

The only thing handguns are good at are being compact and easily concealable. Both are non-factors in home defense situations.
>>
>>33204090
>compactness doesn't matter in relatively tight home hallways
>>
>>33204090
this
I use a puckle gun for home defense for when I inevitably get home invaded by 50 armored saracens.
>>
>>33204090
>slinging an 18" barrel around corners and hallways is a good idea
>inb4 muh bullpup
>>
>>33204372
I have a 20"
>>
>>33204364
It doesn't. The handgun compactness is only a factor when carrying, as extending your hands to aim a handgun takes up ever more space than holding a rifle.

Not to mention there is no problem with rifle unless you live in a fucking cubicle.
>>
>>33204372
Extend your arms while holding a handgun and tell me they take less space than an 18" barrel.
>>
>>33203165
Nothing fired out of a 1911 will defeat IIIA body armor
>>
>>33203097
>No safety
>cocked
>under pillow
Why, anon?

He hopes it will go off while he's sleeping and end his miserable life.
>>
>>33203034
I'd store two, one for your mouth and one for your butthole.
>>
>>33203097
"if you do it and negligently discharge, you're an idiot"

NO -- it doesn't make you stupid, it makes you NEGLIGENT

that's why it's not called an accidental discharge, anon, or a stupid discharge

and i seriously hope you're not employed in medicine, because your phone corrected ND to NG
>>
>>33204432
Most negligence could have been easily avoidable if it werent for lack of intelligence and forethought. I'm not just talking about NDs, either.
>>
>>33204090
>what are studio apartments
>what is overpenetration
>>
>>33204596
>studio apartments
No tight corridors/hallways, which are hardly a factor anyways. I guess it could be a factor if you live is sewers or something, but I hope you don't.

>what is overpenetration
Get a shotgun if you are worried about overpenetration.

I will say it again, there is no reason to use handguns in home defense whatsoever. Handguns are sub-optimal at killing shit due to their size and the only point of them is that they are small and easy to conceal/carry, which are non-factors in this particular situation.

You want to use a handgun for home defense, go ahead. Just know you are handicapping yourself for no reason other than to save face on an anonymous zimabwean basket-weaving website. Something to think about.

I keep mine on my footlocker that i use as a bedside table. I also keep it in the holster because my detente spring is kind of weak and ive found with saftey knocked off by accident.
