That's the problem with "modernized" lever actions. On paper, for example, the Ruger Model 96 is the pinnacle of lever-action technology. In reality, people just want fucking cowboy guns. Detachable magazines, or even integrated box magazines, appear to offend them.

Honestly it feels looser than my nugget bolt. I'd recommend handling one.
But it does have dat Mauser controlled feed, which many people like. And the lightweight stock makes it pretty great out of the box...at least if you're okay with moderate recoil. I need to put a scope on mine eventually, but as is I have no complaints.
