Can someone explain gun prices to me?
For example Maverick 88 is around 200$ in USA and 530$ in my country.
Is it that much cheaper in USA because it is made there and importing it to EU costs that much? Do we have high firearms taxes in EU or something?
I am not tying to have a political discussion just wondering why the same firearms cost more than twice as much in my country.
$200 plus
>VAT taxes
>serial registration
>CIP stamp
>importer fees
>reseller fees
= twice the original price
If memory serves in EU every foreign gun ( that doesn't comply to CIP proofs if I remember good) must be proofed here. Also market plays a huge role... In the US guns are far more consumer items than here, where people usually buy a few guns and rarely changes them over time.

Thing is the average pay in my country is 1200$ and one shitty shotgun is half of that

Your government doesn't want you having guns yet you keep voting for the same ones everytime.

Only the rich can afford guns in my country. Just getting a license will cost you 500$ and the shooting range will cost you even more.
Most people spend over 1200$ on getting their first low quality firearm

man every day i am reminded of why i love living in the USA
>go to lgs
>give the nice man 300 dollars
>go home with a mossberg 500 instead of a maverick

Do you use gun safes in USA? We are required to have them here. Thats extra 150$

if you're an Europoor, just invest in a legit, Swedish Mossberg 5xx. Especially used ones go for mere 200€ at lowest, still.

where the fuck you live?

bruh i literally keep my AR leaning against the foot of my bed because I live alone. Although I live in a state with very lax gun laws so maybe a shittier state might require them, I'm not sure.

Depends where. Where i live from what i understand u dont actualy need to use one..its good to have tho if u have too many to fit in the house without tripping over them tho
>economies of scale
>government bureaucracy costing the sellers money and forcing them to jack up prices
Do you at least get Schengen free travel to the Czech Republic?

We arent required to but a lot do anyway. They're a good idea if you have kids or shitty roommates.

Actually there is no need at least here in Italy, we have a nice market and for 300 you can grab very nice Berettas semiautos or Benellis.
Somehow initial prices are high, but used market is full of inexpensive yet well kept guns

Slovenia :c.... the cost of getting my first firearm is estimated at around 1400$ if i am buying a maverick 88 and getting a license through signing up to a shooting range.
