Any swords similar to the longswords you can wield in Fable (2004)?
Also, Fantasy Weapons Thread.

Another perspective.
Nothing historical at least. The blade shape would be somewhat akin to a Pompeii gladius I guess, but much bigger. Hilt's just pure fantasy in anything more specific than "has a pommel" and "has a crossguard". And the overall proportions are, well, quite cartoony.
Fable is one of the comfiest games I've ever played. I wish they didn't shit up the franchise after the second one.
Unfortunately the closes thing you will find to a sword like that is a XIV or a XXII on the Oakeshott typology. They have a hefty wide base, but they taper a lot toward the tip.

That crossguard will hurt your fingers if you used that sword in a fight.

Like xiphos?

I'm not seeing it.

Yeah well it's the closest I know to the pic you posted.

I'm not OP, I'm the guy above suggesting there simply isn't anything terribly similar to the Fable weapon.

Well not sure about the Fable part... but with the Fantasy Weapon, what everyone think about Zombie Tools? Despite the Zombie thing being so over used it's cancer, they seem to make some really quality stuff. I'm considering ordering their d'Capitan for my next sword.

My gut feeling is that a maker selling his blades on their merits as swords may be preferable to one going "Hey, guys, zombies!" Maybe not the most solid of foudnations to build a recommendation or condemnation on though...
The design there looks reasonably sane, so I can't hold it for impossible that it's an ok sword. On the other hand it'd still be rather trivial to mess up the balance anyway, no way to tell from pictures there really.
