Honestly, getting shot isn't a big deal. Your parents start building up your immunity around the time you reach puberty with BB guns, hopefully building up your resistance to .22 gauge by the time you graduate. (that's why school shootings have a higher body count btw. Most adults have a high tolerance.)

I've built up an immunity to everything up to 40 ought 6 gauge, and I'll be moving onto shotgun shells from there. I'll probably stop when I have a healthy resistance to .50 Kcal (that's 500 caliber) but if the US gets another terrorist attack, I may branch out to other ordinances.

this is almost certainly fabricated. The number of murders in the U.S. is nowhere near the amount of traffic fatalities, and firearm related deaths are a small portion of that.
