This is the Chrysler TV8.
It was a nuclear powered tank prototype developed in the early 50s.
the australians wanted to see if their Sentinel tank can handle the recoil of a 17lbr.
So they stuck two 25lbr howitzers into the tank turret and fired it, since the recoil of 2x 25lbrs > 17lbr recoil
it actually worked. and then the Sentinel never saw combat because the US was literally shitting out enough shermans for everyone to have some.

You're right that we never used Shermans, but we did use lend-lease Stuarts. Also used Grants, Crusaders and a bunch of captured ones. They killed the need for a native design.
Shame really as the Sentinel was GOAT.

It was also supposed to be Amphibious.
The traverse would have been glacial given the entire crew, engine, ammo storage etc was in the turret.

>The hull is merely an accessory to the turret.

Actually doesn't look that bad.
In threads like these I have to shill the SPIW program and how ultimately pointless and expensive it was.

Awesome. I think it's a good look for the M3.
Here's a design for an X-wing.
This is a radar-guided anti-bomber formation missile that the krauts were close to deploying.
>guys we need jet fighters for the carriers
