Now that the dust has settled,
meme or design revolution?
>>33183814
yeah
>>33183833
fpbs
>>33183814
A good gimmick
It's a gimmick because it's shit compared to projectiles that are far more effective and cheaper
It's good because what it's advertised to do, it does really well. You'll put a bunch of splinters into a guy but splinters do a lot less than a bullet
>>33184087
it's objectively better than FMJ and hollowpoints for damage output though. Definitly makes your .380 at least as powerful as .45
>>33184270
>Damage output
>Makes .380 as powerful as .45
Yes RIP has all the stoppin powa
>>33184270
>Damage output
This isn't vidya...what the fuck.
>>33184348
>my contrived term for causing damage isnt up to par with all the other ones
https://youtu.be/PTpceymbX6w
tell me this isnt incredibly deadly
>>33183814
Their follow up line of Civic Duty stuff may actually prove to be legit
It's very effective.
At pissing off the doctor that has to dig out all of those little shards out of Tyrone after he beat you to death.
>>33184532
Ballistics gel isn't 1:1 to the human body.
>>33183814
how does it perform in fbi ballistic gel tests compared to other defense ammo?
>>33184644
as an unequivocal meme.
like 4 inches of penetration with a minimum standard set at 12"
Memest of the meme ammo. No penetration, and ~80% of GSW's hit bone at some point, which would render that shit ineffective. The ass of the bullet that penetrates deeper has a cross section the size of a .22.
It's a great bullet if you want the perp to die of an infection 9 days later.
>>33184628
Regardless, if you use ballistics gel as the same metric for damage between calibres the RIP is still very effective
>>33184699
>implying 4 inches of penetration is a bad thing
>implying the bullet passing through is more ideal than shattering into 8 pieces in a spread pattern
You're a fucking idiot
>>33184628
And a 2x4 isn't 1:1 to a skull but if you can penetrate a 2x4 you can probably penetrate a skull
>>33183814
It was always a meme
>>33184804
It needs depth of penetration to hit critical organs
>>33184736
https://youtu.be/Gmy7Vp7aNHw
several meat tests in this video. Including bone
>>33184832
>implying your critical organs are much deeper than 4 inches
>implying the shredding effect of the round wont likely hit veins and/or arteries
>>33184843
>not even 11" of penetration on bare clear gel
>almost no permanent cavity to speak of
>skims through 1" of turkey leg
>obviously doesn't hit bone
>bird bones being compared to human bones
>barely penetrates into second honeydew
>can't go through 9" of store-bought ham that I could probably push my finger through
wew
>>33183814
This definitely has never been asked before, you probably couldn't even find an answer on the archive if you tried! No OP, RIP is hot garbage compared to even standard fmj. It does what it says and makes a bunch of tiny holes. The catch is that it'll barely penetrate their skin/muscle, let alone thick clothing. Good luck hitting anything vital or making it through the ribcage. Just buy good hollow points like everyone else.
>>33184861
>relying on the superficial veins/arteries of the torso to have any immediate effect on stopping a human
>>33184532
>word games, bullshit
You didn't say that, you directly said "Definitly makes your .380 at least as powerful as .45", which is complete and utter horseshit. It also showcases that you have no fucking clue how ballistics work. Go back to throwing rocks; it is all your brain can handle.

>>33184532
It's not incredibly deadly.
>>33184804
ballistics gel isn't 1:1 blood and bones noob
>>33185040
with only the base penetrating far enough, it's likely not nearly as effective as even ball ammo.
>>33184087
>Muh wound vectors
>>33185265
Basically this. If it had more mass and typical projectile velocity it could be abot as effective as a hollow point but likely still more expensive. Neat idea and will push design testing though
>>33183814
meme
>>33183814
Oh boy, people aren't getting banned for these threads again.
>>33184532
meme, worse than regular hollowpoints
>>33184532
>9 separate "wound channels" equates to 9 annoying splinters sitting 2 inches in your skin (aka not in your vitals where it should be)
>96 gr projectile goes 14~ inches in ballistics gel when a cheaper 124 gr does the same and expands larger and more reliably
>costs twice as much as proven shit like speer gold dots or federal hst
>this is supposed to be impressive
