is it worth $2,599? should i buy one?
If you ACTUALLY have the money why not
>>33182557
i was saving up for a honda cbr 500r but honestly i dont know if i should go for the gun instead.
>>33182542
Enormous waste of money: you'd be spending an extra $1,500 for a rampant pony, that's it.
Colt drove itself into the ground with these retarded schemes, don't help them.
>>33182603
>Pay $2000 for a foregrip and stock
As much as I'd like one I'd get the bike. It's only an aesthetic choice for less function. $550 for a full AR-15 self build and 1000 rounds and a second hand CBR is the better choice.
>giving Clot money for their stupid decisions and poor business management
>>33182542
I'd buy it if I had serious "fuck you" money, but in a world with a budget that 2k markup is fucking crazy.
It's not more authentic than any other modern M16A1s
If you buy one you're supporting every dumb decision Colt has made
>>33182542
You can buy an original SP1 for around $1000 less.
>>33182542
>Uses M16 stock without clean kit compartment rather than A1 stock
>Blease gib $2k for totally authentic A1
>>33182828
>Pay $2000 for a foregrip and stock
Shows how little you know.
No, don't buy that garbage, though.
>>33182881
How many times do you have to be told that an SP1 is a poor match for any M16?
>>33182921
Ok senpai.
>>33182542
God damnit Colt, you fucking retards.
If you were to price these out at something like 1200 even, they would sell like god damn hot cakes but no, 2600. You fucking retards.
Shit like this is why Colt is going fucking bankrupt.
You CAN buy whatever you want...
Advised not to rip your wallet to shreds in the process...
so just build my own a1 and save the cash. probably the smart choice. maybe this will help keep prices down for "non colt" parts. i guess ill put the savings torward the bike
>>33182542
>colt
>good decisions
Pick one.
This applies to people that buy colt and colt as a company.
>>33182542
Buy as many as you can!! They'll only go up, Up, UP!!
>made of parts kits
>on receivers that had their production outsourced to some company in the southwest
>literally the only thing they had a hand in making these rifles were the components churned out a half century ago
>charge $2500 anyways
Colt needs to fucking die already.
>>33183141
Or go back to a CEO that care about guns and the brand.
>>33182542
You can get an original SP1 for less than that. Why would you buy a repro for higher cost than the original?
>>33182542
No. Colt is just being milked for their name until their owners drop it.
Just in case you all want to quit the memes and know why Colt is sgit lately. They literally have to pay a royalty to use their own name

Speaking of which, they just gutted the Custom Shop and Colt Canada. Lots of layoffs and the MRR may be shelved

>>33182542
waste of money. You can get a used colt parts kit from the 700s that has everything except the barrel and the lower for 700$
http://whatacountry.com/colt-m16a1-parts-kit.aspx
>>33182542
Building a NDS A1 for $800. $100 of that is gauges and misc tools.
>>33183085
The funny thing is, they're going to sell so few of these, they may actually achieve collector status in the future.
>>33184463
Is there just a bunch of people who learned the SP1 existed?
Fuck Colt, get a copy. Fulton Armory makes one that's halfway there for $1200 and it has a 1/7 twist barrel. If you want one that's as correct as possible you can build one for under $1000.
Colt has been running on fumes for 50 years and they need to fucking die, or heaven forbid be bought by mother fuckers who actually give a shit about guns, gun owners, and the workers who make them.
Well, looks like you won't even have a chance. Colt just fired a bunch of people

>a good thing
If you don't plink with 55 grain your wrong.
>>33182542
Buy an origin 12
how the fug is colt going out of business in the age of panick buying and gun hysteria
literally if sandyhook didnt happen they would be gone by now?
>>33183063
Colt suffers from too many years of relying on fat govt contracts.
But theres nothing wrong with civilians that by their products as long as they dont support these ridiculous $3000 snoflake edition.
I got a le6920 for $1000. I dont think thats a bad deal
But god damn fuck colt for coming out with a new .357 revolver only available in snub nose barrel. They are fucking idiots to do shit like this
>>33186305
They don't sell anything not oversaturated.
1911s and ar15s were their cash cows.
Their one notable offering they killed (Python) because their shareholders didn't get enough profit from it.
They've resorted to selling old products like the SAA just for quick bucks
>>33186285
Over stabilization is a fucking myth.
>>33186371
The le6920 isn't a $1000 AR. It's comparable to a del-ton or m&p15 which can be had at half the price.
Colt just needs to die.
>>33186871
Nice evidence. Why does the military even bother testing when they could just ask you?
Protip: /arg/ banter isn't a good source of information.
>>33186898
>It's comparable to a del-ton or m&p15
fuck you. go kys and jump in the garbage
>>33186898
le6920 has a chromelined barrel which puts it a step above delton and sw m&p
more like a 800 gun priced at 1k
>>33185539
Century laid off 40 employees too, gun sales have crashed its happening across the board.
>>33186949
the M&P15 has a chrome lined barrel though.
unless you mean the Sport model.
>>33186949
>a step above delton and sw m&p
fukcing kys and die commie scum you have no fuckign idea what you are talking about so just shut up
>>33182542
That's a lot of money for a hunk of metal that shoots more metal.
>>33186926
why would the military be testing whether or not 55gr stabilizes in a 1:7 twist barrel?
Anecdotal evidence: I've had zero issues shooting 55gr in multiple 1:7 barrels
While Colt was a premier brand name for over a century, quality has been hit or miss for about 30 years and declining.
A few years back I bought a Colt 1911A1 NIB, Field stripped, cleaned and oiled, and found that half a mag wasn't even printing on a target at 25 feet. A buddy fired it, too, with the same results. I borrowed my buddy's SA 1911, used the same ammo, and shot a 3" group. He shot a 2" group with his gun, my ammo that was just one ragged hole on the X ring. I took the Colt back to my Gunshop with the targets, and the owner sent the POS back to Colt. 3 months later, the Colt came back with a letter that said it was within factory tolerances. The shop owner changed out springs and bushings, took it out himself, and declared that the gun could probably shoot around corners. He refunded my money, and I bought Springfield Armory 1911, a Winchester Defender 12 ga., and a pile of ammo with the refund.
While I'll never buy a Colt product ever again, Colt collectors are dedicated and a lot of those fudds buy anything Colt for top dollar once they become scarce, but I suspect that most never shoot; they just collect.
tl;dr Limited run Colts still might be an OK investment, but might be crap shooters.
>>33182603
>honda cbr 500r
the gun will always retain its value the bike will not
>>33183141
Not everyone jumped on the $250 surplus kits three years ago
>>33186959
panic buying is slowing down, greedy fucks are going to learn they can't ride off inflated prices anymore.
