So with today's start of the IWA, ammo maker RWS announced the launch of a brand new hunting caliber, the 10.3x68 Magnum.
Bullet weight ranges from 170 grains up to 400 grains

So is this going to be another euro-only boutique big game cartridge like 9.3x64 Brenneke or 9.3x62 Mauser?
Some guy from Varusteleka posted this a couple of hours ago.
What are those rifles shown on H&K's stand?

If Americans don't want to use it, yes. Alternatively they design something similar and use that instead. Already happened with 6.5 Lapua for example. For who knows what reason Americans didn't like it and designed the 6.5 Creedmoor a couple of years later, which is basically the same cartridge but American, so now Americans can shoot it.
Mite be cool if I ever decide I really want to eat a Cape Buffalo.

x68
That, along with the bullet weight should make sure that the recoil aint too bad.
- .338LM is x70
- .300WM is x67
Both have AR-versions so I cannot wait for the next monster semi-auto.
Although the round needs a new name - 10.3x68 sounds horrible.
Lets call it the .405 Magnum
Oh hey, it's another magnum round - because 338 lapua ain't powerful enough to hunt down anything that breathes

On the other hand a 911 Turbo is a fun car despite having more power than most people need. Does that make sense?
