So is this just a meme round?
Does anywhere have some for sale?
Can it really penetrate level III+ steel plates?
>>33181008
Walmart sells it by the can. Not exactly hard to find.
>>33181008
Probably won't be available to civvies in any serious quantity.
You don't want it anyway if your Upper has M4 feed ramps
>>33181011
>>33181020
Arent M4 feed ramps designed to take the M855A1?
Also what's a feed ramp?
>>33181029
i missed the "A1" part. my bad
>>33181040
Yeah, you are bad
>>33181037
A feed ramp is an angled cut out meant to catch the point of a round as it's stripped from the magazine and funnel it into the chamber.
M855A1 wasn't around when M4 feed ramps were introduced.
>>33181122
So what's wrong with M4 feed ramps and M855A1?
>>33181020
M855 is fine for feedramps, only early M855A1 fucked it up, and I don't think any A1 has been surplused yet.
>>33181263
Nevermind, I can't read.
>>33181180
The steel tip of the A1 stuff would wear like fuck on the feed ramp, I don't remember if the ammo was changed or the feedramp was.

New magazines present the rounds at a higher angle to reduce the feed ramp wear. The new USGI magazines have blue followers. Magpul Gen M3 mags have a similar angle as well.
>>33182468
So the only mags that are a problem are old aluminum ones or cheap chinese plastic ones huh?
Any pmag, magpul or modern aluminum will be fine
>>33181020
>Probably won't be available to civvies in any serious quantity.
Yes it will. It's not AP per the legal definition and unlike 5.45 people A.) care and B.) know what's coming.
>muh feedamps
>>33182468
This.
>>33182493
It has to specifically be the latest magpul gen m3 or the latest blue follower USGI magazine. The old tan, green, and black followers do not account for ths. Here's the angle difference of the feed lips. I'm not sure about other brands like lancer or tapco, since they do not state like magpul does that their magazines are engineered for the new round.
