It's your choice dude, but I personally hate short barreled rifles. I'd rather deal with the weight and ungainlyness of a long rifle but that's just me. I would rather get the most out of my ammo

Also, keeping the long gas system means a better sight radius. I'd love to see the specs on how much actual energy/accuracy you lose, but it'd be fine in a wooded area.

How badly does going that short degrade accuracy/power? I have my regular full-length L1A1, and I kinda wanna do something like OP or pic related. Real short barrel, regular length gas system and sight length, Israeli furniture+a retro-looking flash hider, throw on that fat DSA Para Rear Sight, and maybe look into options to throw on a retro Aimpoint or something. Would make for a fun, asthetic bush/camping gun.
