Hey there /k/. What's your opinion on the Tavor?

Personally, I'm rather fond of it. Bullpup design, highly durable, reliable in harsh environments (dirt, sand, etc).

Why do bullpups have to be so shit? I love the aesthetic.

So a friend and I where buying guns at the same time, we go to the the same shop but are looking from two totally different things. He wanted something new and crazy and expensive, I just wanted some nice milsurp. I saw a nice finnish m39 for 300 on consignment and he was willing to spend all his tax return on an X95. Friend is laughing at me telling me why I'd waste my money on such an old rifle, probably never gonna hit anything, why didn't I just finish buying some AR parts for my build. I bought some match 54r and asked if he wanted to go to the range after I clean my rifle. Whole time he's talking shit that his rifle is way better than mine and how he'd never buy anything made before 1960. So I put 100 dollars on my table and said if I shot a better 3 round group I keep his 100.

We go to the range, still talking shit, I knew the fins rifle was accurate but maybe not as much as I thought and I knew the x95 was modern so it had to be somewhat accurate. We gave each other a chance to zero and we got ready. I spot for him to see where he hits. First round. "Where we're you aiming?" Left quadrant, is it there? Nope. 2nd round. Hit four inches right. 3rd round. Hit 2 inches left. What the fuck he wasn't even close. I go up. Hit two inches left, hit 3 inches left, hit 1 inch right. What the fuck. How the fuck does the x95 preform so badly? It was 100 yards and I smoked him. Now he's mad and saying his sights lost zero.

TL;DR x95 is absolute crap and my M39 made better groups with okay-ish ammo

I love mine. I am glad the aftermarket is beginning to catch up with it that its offering a good bit of customization / Personalization.

That aside its a good little rifle to just chuck in your vehicle and have around that and its nice to have a compact design while still haveing a 16" barrel.

I love my tavor, somehow softer shooting than my bros AR-15

I like the AUG a lot more

Cons:

Barrel is not free floating, also the profile isn't great so accuracy suffers especially after the barrel gets warm. Shoddy accuracy in general from the factory.

Gas system is horrendous with suppressors, also no adjustable gas.

A bit on the heavy side

Really stupidly overpriced for what it is, might as well save up for an AUG and get 200% better build quality

Pros:

Great ambi support and controls, good bullpup trigger (on x95). Well balanced.

Breeze to strip and clean

Awesome aftermarket support to fix most flaws

I've fired an Australia Army AUG while in Iraq. I used M16s and M4s while in the US Army. I own an AR15 and an AK74. I've fired Tavor and X95s that friends own.

The AUssieG is the best rifle of that bunch
>>
Want an X95 but still can't figure out if they're worth the $1500-$1600 cost.
>inb4 get an AR
Already have two.
>>
>>33184261

Christ I hate this meme

They've got the same retarded handguard/barrel mounting design. It doesn't matter what sort of precision barrel you stick on it, accuracy is still going to blow.

It's not a free floating barrel system. the poorly designed handguard requires barrel support for sturdy mounting because the Israelis don't give a shit outside of "muh combat accuracy"
>>
>>33184337
Except there are numerous examples of people shooting the SAR MOA or sub-MOA. So obviously something is different.
>>
>>33184397

>"oh look I got a sub-MOA 5 shot group out of a cold barrel"
>after 20 3+ MOA 5 shot groups
>>
>>33184397

What's different, then?

Do you have schematics that show the design differences, or official documents to back up your claims?

>>33181162

Sounds like you're both shit shooters.

Your finnish m39 should be doing 2 moa at worst if the barrel isn't completely fucked.

x95 has some inherent accuracy issues but there's no fucking way it's that bad.

>I bought match ammo
>says at the bottom after admitting to garbage shooting it was only
Ok ammo

Lol
>>
>>33184488
From all I've looked up, the x95 will do 1.5 moa at best with match ammo. I tried to give all my findings to a dumbass friend to steer them away but people want what they want.

reminds me of the time i went to the range with my buddy with my arsenal against his bcm build. I shot fantastic that day and we both scored ~1moa. I did feel pretty salty afterwards because i shot my lapua match 7.62s, but regardless we both had a great time and realize we were both retarded for listening to the internet myths about ak being innacurate and ar being a failure of a rifle in the presence of a smallest speck of dust.
Either way you're fucking retarded for comparing a boltgun to a autoloader, at 100 yards no less.

Gotta be honest, while I find the non proprietary mags and wider aftermarket for the tavor impressive, the AUG is just a much better gun IMO. But to each their own everyone should own a bullpup
