Is there a legitimate reason to have wood instead of polymer furniture?
I'm not a fudd but I fucking love wood. I even have an AR with wood furniture. I try telling myself that it helps better with heat dissipation and grip or something so I don't feel like such a faggot but I'm starting to think that polymer might just be objectively superior

Do whatever appeases your OCD/autism.
An AK without wood is ugly as fuck imo.
>>33177131
muh aesthetics is a legitimate function of firearm furniture.
Let's be honest, you're not taking your guns anywhere other than an indoor range or a covered durr blind, they should look pretty the other 99.9% of the time that you're not using them.
>>33177131
Who cares? Guns are personal preference. If everyone just used what was "objectively best" there would be no choice in the world.
It's like Mario Kart. If everyone used the thing that was "best" it would be nothing but Mario. But some people run Bowser, some Luigi. Some fuckers run Toad, man.
You like wood - great. Does it hamper you in any real way? No? Then keep going, my dude.
>>33177131
For something that comes from nature and is the best they could manage for a long time, quality wood is actually a bretty good material

So what round is objectively better, the 5.45, or the 7.62?
>>33177230
5,45 is lighter, 7,62 punches above its weight. There's rarely an objectively better option.
>>33177182
You've never played MK in your life, faget.
>>33177230
7.62 since you can still get cheap milsurp and it's a legit hunting caliber under 150 yards for durr
>>33177230
As long as it's x51
Identifying myself as a man of patrician taste and status amongst the slew of plastic wielding plebeians is both legitimate and utilitarian. You see, I and many others of my persuasion are heavily predisposed to distrust the aforemention Glocksuckers and ARfagteens, and the more cautious elite may even execute them on sight in a crisis situation.

Kill your fucking self.
I love steel, wood, brass, and fine leather. I also love machine guns for non-hunting And hunting purposes.
I find nothing wrong with OP's post.
>>33177182
Toad and peach are the best.
>>33177322
I wholeheartedly refuse, and encourage you to reevaluate your position. This is no different than disparaging the exhibition of white clothing after Labor Day. There simply must be efficient ways to nonverbally discern the intellectually and socially superior individuals in our society from the ever more prolific dregs.
>>33177172
>not going to BLM land
>>33177230
Neither. They both have pros and cons, and are both very good calibers. It's just a matter of preference.

They don't look bad with plum furniture imo. Everything else though is pretty meh

>implying you don't scurry for cover the minute a single cloud appears
>implying you'll be crawling through mud out of necessity rather than reenacting autistic fantasies in your head
>>33177131
You can use it as a club. Especially if you have steel buttplate.
>>33177131
Checkered wood grips are honestly the best grip you can have. But they have grip tape for a reason so polymer is still fine even with the worst polymer grips.
Poorly fitted wood looks tacky, though.
>>33177131
Since no real answers just faggotry. Polymer is better in every way. Heat shield on handguard and lighter overall. I'll take a surplus plum set over anything. Wood is always aesthetic reasons

I find wood aesthetically pleasing as opposed to polymer but I suppose it depends on personal opinion.

I want to say yes,, there is a legit reason for wood and some long range target shooters prefer wood to fiberglass or Polymer for this reason. What that reason was, you got me. Maybe something with heat distribution?
>>33177131
>Not a fudd, but fucking love wood.
This makes you a faggot, not a fudd.
>>33177131
>I fucking love wood
Got some wood right here for ya ya OP fudge packer.

Wood AR's look pretty great, nothing wrong with it.
This is now a woody thread

Lmao we have a /k/ammando from /HM/
>>33177131
Not all guns need to be super tacticool operator tools. Nothing wrong with choosing furniture because you like the aesthetic as long as you can use the firearm proficiently.
