Well, they don't have to do grunt duty, not most of them anyway, they're working bodies that can do rear echelon stuff, driving, office stuff, armory duty, cooking, radio operating, maybe artillery, etc. Manpower is manpower, maybe the majority of them aren't well fit for infantry, but that doesn't mean they can't be useful.

I fully understand the huge range of reasons why woman should definitely not be in any military unless they're late-nazi tier levels of attrition, but what is the reasoning USA brass and the gubment have given for allowing women to join the military / adding women to the draft.
