That's nice.. sooo, is this thread everyone's favorite WWII guns?..
If so, tie between the Reising M55 and Browning M1919
Type 14 Nambu is up there aesthetically speaking

mine too. Even named my German Shepherd Luger. Your fucking point?

cool beans OP
Personally I prefer the Walther P38. But the Luger's nice too.
What's the advantage of a toggle-lock?
>>33165378
They have a high operating reliability

At the time it was made, pistols usually just used a simple straight blowback design but those would not be suitable for the powerful 9x19mm cartridge.
The toggle-locks were a solution to absorb the powder ignition and the recoil. By going upwards instead of backwards it allowed the gun to be smaller and not have a massive overhang to the rear.

Is there any reason for a modern gun to use a toggle lock now?

>grandpa had a luger his lieutenant gave him during the war
>was a carpenter
>sold it to a plumber he was working on a house with in the 50s
>every time i see a luger i'm reminded of this

Both are aesthetic in their own way
(I know its a P1, but close enough)
