Show Me Targets You Shot Up! Post the range and gun you used to shoot it with! I shot it with a Glock 17 9mm at 5 yards are so.
wow, that's pretty bad
>>33163616
5 yards? you may want to practice a lot more five yards is super close
>>33163616
>5 yards
Shit nigga.
Ruger 10/22 at 25 yards.
~100 yards
Chest shot kneeling
Head shot prone
>>33163709
Well this is actually my first time shooting a gun.
>>33163616
Holy crap OP you need to practice so much more. My liberal cousin shoot better than you at 10yds on her first time shooting a gun.
Seriously though, if you didnt have anyone helping you then I suggest taking a class. They will give you the basics to get better.
>>33164077
Honestly I don't remember if it was 5 or 10 yards. I just assumed 5.
>>33163803
Am I the only one who basically shoots paper to sight in, then rarely ever shoots for groups again?
Just finding random mud and fun stuff to send flying after that?
>>33163880
Damn dude thats what my 100yd 10/22 groups look like.
>>33164590
Hopefully
>>33163616
Your average glock shooter ladies and gentlemen. And I say this as a guy who carries a G26.
>>33164648
I wish I was one of you and enjoyed it, I just think paper shooting is boring as all hell.
I like a challenge, but it better break apart and kick up dust, or something else exciting.
>>33164691
I find joy in personal growth and improving skill. The loud bang is enough to suppress any childishness
>>33164637
Scope or no scope? Not him but that group would be pretty good without a scope at 25 yards
>>33164691
I can't speak for others but I paper shoot to measure my accuracy. Though I do practice full autism commando once in a while. I'm much more after perfecting my aim. I'm more of a target shooter.
>>33164691
>I like a challenge, but it better break apart and kick up dust, or something else exciting.
Buy a shot timer, find cheap reactive targets to shoot and run some modified drills.
>bill drill on a trash can lid
>plate rack drills on flower pots
>22422 on trash cans
Hell, you can even shoot steel. I think one handed shooting with either your strong hand and support hand is fun but a lot of people have an aversion to doing this because they're uncomfortable with it.
>>33164716
If valuing fun over measuring my groups is childish, I guess I'll keep my childishness. I can hardly even stand to sight in scopes on paper, I have to use something that'll smoke, spark, blow up, or do something more fun. Thank god for tractor oil filters as my "paper" and scrap from computers or farm.
I'm a decent enough shot, and take it from 50 to 400 yards with steel targets, but it's just not nearly as fun without some sort of interesting effect downrange. Steel is normally my paper after sight-in. And I've got over 150 sheets left, among tons of other scrap, and get 48 new ones every couple years.
>>33164743
I just like to measure mine on something more fun. I can't wait till it warms up and this daylight savings crap is done so there's more time after work.
>>33164856
paper is for training and rangecucks who can't innawoods
>>33164846
You are so kind imparting wisdom on this guy. Your suggestions are a simple compromise too, nicely done.
He won't learn though, they never do.
Plinkers are better served dropping their ammo in the dirt.
>>33164846
I'm not really a shot timer or drill type. But I guess I've done some similar drills on steel plates with rifles at varying distances after looking those terms up. That's mostly what I use. I just don't ever go out with the idea of doing drills. I just do what feels best at the time.
>>33164881
>He won't learn though, they never do.
I have learned. I've learned that destroying stuff trumps paper group feels for me. I like to go back inside with a smile from ear to ear after shattering a few distant rocks in an open field or something.

This was done with irons. Each target is probably about ~30-40 rounds with a lot of the rounds going through the center holes, so I probably should have switched up where I was aiming but oh well.
im shit
7 yards. Yeah I suck, but I've only been doing this for like half a year. On my last range trip I realized that I was subconsciously loosening my grip at the last minute to let the sights settle, which was fucking me up. It explains why my rapid fire target (top right) was the best out of them.
>>33170443
This is my 25 yard target from last range trip. Pretty proud of it since all 5 rounds hit the target and I got two in the bullzeye. I think I could qualify as a supermarket security guard at least.
>>33163616
Target from my Texas LTC test. Shot with my Glock 34 and shitty Winchester white box ammo. Two fliers, but not too shabby overall.
Bolt action .22, 50 yards.
