You just won a free hunting trip to Africa, you can only take two guns. One for plains game, another for dangerous game. What models do you pick and in what calibers?
The largest cal I've shot is fuddy aught six, so I don't have any experience with big bores. I know for my plains gun I'd use pic related, .375 H&H

Sako safari in .416 rigby
Plains game: Whatever. Something accurate and powerful enough.
Dangerous game: M82
.458socom AR15 for dangerous game
.338 laupa magnum AR for plains

double barrel .45-70 with those copper-looks-like-a-screwdriver perpetrator rounds

Yeah. And a 12 gauge for birds.
458 win mag for dangerous game. And 303 british for plains game
I was under the impression africans hunted each other with 9mm, as they say "when in rome"

No, a lot of them use .40 Swisher & Welfare
458 Lott or 338 LM.
I may yet get a 375 H&H, but that is going to be a bit later.

I thought 4000ft lbs from a 17lb rifle was a decent bit. Turns out 6000ftlbs from a 9lb rifle is a bit more kick.
My personal .375 Ruger African. It's an older model with no brake but new enough to have the barrel band swivel. It's enough for everything.
Assuming my personal rifle fails or I can't find ammo because LOLRUGER, I'd get a Weatherby Mark V in .375 Weatherby.
