Hey /k/angaroos, I'm back. I had an old thread discussing weapon/combat vehicle designs I stitched together in Paint.NET using shit from Shipbucket and you all seemed to like it, and it turned into a pretty cool discussion. I have some new shit and the game it's for is about done, so I figured now's as good a time as any to post about it again.
Old Thread:
https://desuarchive.org/k/thread/31004787/#31008235
Starting thread with a gun you guys seemed to really enjoy last time.
One of the new things I made, shamelessly stapled together a P90 stock and a couple other things.
Player here, the above is the GM. It's set in a really cool world, and has some good mechanics to it. I play a mid-tier country, kinda like Canada crossed with Brazil. Ask/comment/ridicule away!
And before any of you come in here saying 8.5x28mm is a ridiculous PDW round, I know. I drew this up to represent just how bullshit it is.
>>33160854
Oh hey you're here, neato
I hope this is a fun thread like last time
Oldie but a goodie.
Totally not a Sten with a vertical mag.
Say hello to Not An MP40.
Also, a few things about the round those guns are chambered to fire... I explained to UGS Anon how cartridge numbers work. After not discarding the cartridge outright out of sheer ridiculousness, I sat down and did some maths. 210 grain bullet, with like 1500 ft/s muzzle velocity. Would likely exert around three times the recoil force of .45 ACP, according to my fag packet maths, but the heavy frame and mag-forward design of the P24 should mitigate that some.
That PDW is going to be cancer to fire on full auto, though.
>>33161007
650 RPM full-auto... yeeeeah, better have good recoil control.
Also have a not-Bren used by the Not-French.
Last time you guys were liking vehicles too, so have this one for starters.
Oh yeah remember, there's walkers in this setting.
>>33161305
That's a R35, not a FT.
>>33161348
I've been aware of this text error for ages now and still haven't fixed it. For some reason.
Here, have another gun from the old thread.
Oh hey there's also planes.
Let's keep this thread alive pls
I love the guns, don't know shit about vics tho.
How do I into weapon making, senpa?
>>33162021
http://shipbucket.com/images.php?dir=Misc%20Drawings/Gunbucket
Save a bunch of these, put them into folders by country/manufacturer/whatever, and then use a blank template from the site and splice shit together in a way that looks nice.
Good tip is to familiarize yourself with what parts are supposed to go where and what they look like, and then copy/paste them from other guns or just draw them yourself pixel by pixel.
I use Paint.NET, it allows me to do rad shit like shift-click fill to uniformly color everything that I want to be a certain color, and allows other neat stuff like lasso select and layers.
Have a knockoff Mauser.
>>33162021
Adobe Illustrator is a good program too.
>>33162319
It has a lot more tools than MSpaint so you can do shit like layers and transparencies
>>33162319
>>33162348
these are fucking beautiful what the fuck
Tell me more, anon. I demand to know more.
>>33162380
With vector drawing you're not limited to actual pixel-by-pixel editing. Lines can be edited later and you can separate different component assemblies into layers for easier variant-drawing. And the image can be exported at various resolutions while retaining crisp lines. Takes a little longer to learn, but it pays off.
>>33162435
This is a masterpiece. I'll try snatching Illustrator sometime, thanks for the advice.
>>33162458
Good luck anon
I shall bump this thread until I can bump no more
Here's one my friend did.
So what's gunmetal skies about, anyway?
>>33160827
Holy shit I didn't think you'd ever come back. Been looking for your shit ever since that thread. This gon b gud
>>33162943
>>33162943
Hoo shit you've opened pandora's box, boi
Under Gunmetal Skies is set in a fantasy world that, for the longest time, was your typical LOTR/Harry Potter/Merlin fantasy circlejerk where everything was wizards and knights and high adventure.
However, due to the advent of the Industrial Revolution, and arcane magic becoming weaker in the presence of technology, the element of high adventure was lost, and the world slowly began to mutate into something more recognizeable: a cobweb of alliances with political and economic tensions reminiscent of the late 19th/early 20th centuries.
World map included. Warning: it's fukken big

Glad to know I've been missed. Have a new tank.
Shit I can't believe I forgot to post this, I've been working on camoflauges. For reference, here's a tank that I've had stowed away for a while.
>>33163059
This actually sounds pretty fuckin' cool. Reminds me of a similar industrial fantasy project I was working on but set in the Vietnam Era.
Here it is with camoflauge common to armored vehicles deployed in the Hammerpoint Sovereignty War, although this particular model rolled off the production lines too late to participate in any actual fighting.
>>33163090
Shit that sounds kinda kickass. I do plan on extending the historical timeline of this world to that era through forum games, so maybe you'll see more parallels in the future.
A more modern camoflauge pattern developed for usage in mountain valleys common to Cania, typically used in national guard units but has seen application outside Canian borders.
And here's the last iteration I did, almost exclusively used in export models to the Canian ally, Muad'Ali, who's territory is very arid. It has seen limited service in Canian armored units that are stationed in chaparral regions of their country.
this one's not quite the scale you were looking for but i've got a few things you might enjoy.
>>33163251
Delicious work, anon. Not quite at that era yet, but this info sheet's pretty well-made.
>>33163251
and now some small arms
>>33163272
why yes i do love the BAR and its variants
>>33163265
It surprised me how well an F-18, F-15, and F-4 went together. Should be able to build that as a model, they're all sized right.
>>33163272
You do these yourself? Damn, what'd you use as a base?
>>33163281
old school subgun
>>33163296
MOIST
>>33163282
just the basic stuff on shipbucket, then resized some pictures to get proportions and had a little fun. Hobbyist smithing to understand how things work helps make them look believable.
Last one, a bullpup that's supposed to be a follow-on replacement for the rifle design.
>>33163334
woops, i have herpderpes
Hey /k/ its that guy that makes all the planes for the Gunmetal Skies Anon, Its been a while since anything was posted so I thought I'd give an update on all of the aircraft [base] models I've produced for the nation I'll be playing when the game starts. I'll have to do some other pics as well and I'm still working on a few other designs here and there.
>>33163313
What makes me giggle is that the SMG is basically in .357 magnum rimless, while the rifle and LMG are 8mm Mauser, and the bullpup's that .280 Brit cartridge just because of the looks.
I think at one point he mentioned that this aircraft might become this universes most mass produced airframe ever. With all of the variants I'm making for it, I think he's right.
I've also updated [slightly] the rifle that my country uses, now equipped with British WWI-esque uber bayonet; because why the fuck not.
Hey folks, Brazil/Canada hybrid dude back again.
I'm a little bit of a newfag so I don't really know how to reference individual posts, but to the anon who said it was chambered in .357 rimless, not far off. It's more like a heavy, wider version of .30 Carbine with a neck.
MrMopTop, thank you so much for te bayonet, I thought I was gonna have to do that myself. My nation uses a lot of his nation's designs, and in return he uses a number of mine, like my trucks and armored cars. That bayonet though, hnghhh... Now my 6'9" half-orcs can bayonet someone from 10 feet away!
Some armored cars for you. These are armed with a 12.5mm HMG, 20mm autocannon, and 37mm anti-tank gun, respectively. Open-top turrets because muh SdKfz 222.
>>33163251
This shit makes me fucking moister than an oyster.
Another variant with an enclosed turret. Same guns from left to right.
>>33163514
how about an A-6 Intruder with the front end of an F-18? Red line shows where to cut on the models.
>>33163609
If this keeps up, I might need to see a doctor about this MULTI HOUR ERECTION
>>33163619
okay, a draken with f-105 intakes
>>33160827
>Shipbucket thread on /k/
Nice, I dumped half a dozen SKS pics in the Gunbucket thread there a few weeks ago.
It might be beneficial to post these on Shipbucket proper as well since you might get more responses or criticism from users there.
Everything in this thread is aesthetic as fuck. I suppose almost every part of these is taken from some real design, but you guys just combine them in the perfect ways. I'm erect.
>>33163636
The dazzle camo makes it Aesthetic as fuck
OP here
what the fuck did I come back to
>>33163609
This is some good shit
>>33163637
This is a good suggestion. I'm eager to see what the original artists think of what I've done with their work.
I like this thread. Have a battle map in the format of what I'll be using for my game.
Civil war, lads.
In case any of you are wondering about the world itself, here's a partially colored map with all the country names.
I made this.
Way too tired to go for the handguard, gonna head to bed at this point. It's a mash of the Lanchester/Thompson and the UZI, little too bad they don't have the bizon in shipbucket for the helical magazine.
I also draw bullshit for a world building game.
I'm not nearly as good though.
Here's the last thing I drew, an infantry lightweight version of the Zb. 53.
>>33164190
...That's gonna be a hell of an awkward fold for that stock but I dig it. Sweet dreams, anon.
>>33164215
Thinking the same, wanted to go for a side folder at first but then the UZI stock just took enough of my time already.
Anyways, first tries are always the best. Good luck, anons, and good night.
Aircraft variants.
Hey OP i have a question how do those floating battleship things work in this game do they sink in water do they fly what is the idea sorry if i seem retarded they just seem cool as fuck
>>33160907
do you remember me?
>>33164364
Ah, more lore.
Aether ships, as they're called, get their namesake from the substance they use to stay afloat: Aether. Aether is an extraplanar substance harvested by (very carefully and precisely) punching holes in the fabric of reality to a different plane where this kind of substance is commonplace. In the material plane (reality), Aether exhibits strange properties, behaving as a very heavy gas, but rapidly decreasing in density upon heating. When it reaches above 100 degrees Celsius, it begins responding negatively to gravity, giving it amazing amounts of lifting power. Heating it to hot enough temperatures allows large tanks embedded in the hulls of warships to allow these ships to fly, giving flight to warships far more durable and versatile than zeppelins.
>>33164408
OH SHIT IT'S VICAR PARA ANON
WHAT UP
>>33164426
I'm really happy that you are back from the dead
I may take a look over some of your drawings and upload my own versions of them later
it's 01:23 AM over here in yurope and I have to get some sleep

it's not the real thing but maybe if you just believe, dreams can come true
still not sure if this thread is about those painted guns or not... but here's a bump
>>33165425
what in tarnation
So how does this work? Why is the ejector port so much higher than the barrel? How does the bolt cycle? Where's the bolt handle? Although I will admit the design's aesthetically pleasing.
>>33165674
just imagine you're a soviet magician
>>33165674
short ejection tube, pic related, other side
>>33165699
>>33165767
oh wait i was wrong about the bolt being the same. but something similar to a pistol's operation would fit
>>33161085
Totally not a T-28 without front mg turrets
>>33165838
needs more baneblade
Oh almost forgot the obligatory Fm. 225 of Close Air Support
Good close air support and bomber hunting will come to you, but only if you post "thank Foscher-Metrov" in this thread
The shit in this thread is top-tier.
Praise be to Foscher-Metrov
All hail Foscher Metrov

Looking to go hasty? This is Halisima's premier interceptor aircaft the NiS-3. Built to a highly similar but highly experimental variant of the P-47 Thunderbolt that never entered service, this plane can reach a whopping top speed of 490 mph or 789 km/h.
>>33167017
/k/ likes girls with curves.
Oh, you again.
>>33167596
You seemed to like my revolver last time so I made an autoloader to go with it.

Oh shit what up gun anon
You're cool, I like you
>>33168777
So do I, sometimes. Where are people getting the planes? post the links again and I'll hop on paint.net and make some new stuff.
It's time for this anon to go to sleep
This was a good thread, I'll be back soon again to tell you fuckers more about this nonsense
Sweet dreams, /k/ommandos

G'night, and happy splicing
>>33163609
Oh god damn that's gorgeous
Upgraded thompson.
Also, the handguard is a little hollow on the inside at the front.
I dunno.
It looks cool.
>>33172802
>the handguard is a little hollow on the inside at the front
So sort of like how the G11 would mount bayonets?
How the fuck is this still alive
>>33173027
/k/ doesn't get much activity outside of america, so during the late night/early morning in the US, threads don't tend to progress quickly.
It's suffering being a Yuropoor. Not only can I not have guns, but I can't shitpost effectivly unless I go full NEET
>>33172802
Can you do the Thompson with a more....mp5 style stock? That'd look rad man.
>>33172802
