i bought one originally for novelty purposes.

Ended up wearing it out shooting in the miserable PNW winter. Kept my neck and head all manner of warm.

Airfag here non-operator here. Was commo for a infantry unit. The balaclavas you can get are better for keeping dust and shit out. Just keep it around your neck and pull it halfway up.

Might be different if you are a gunner or something and want something lighter. Also natives use them, if you want to be like that.
