It's not that those guns are "cheap." The Glock is overpriced, because you are paying a premium for the Glock name and reputation.

Fuck man, you're right. M&P 15 only 500 bucks on gunbroker, how much do you think I could build one for then since I would replace the furniture on the M&P anyways? I only have a glock 19 and the glock 43 now. The LCP II with that price tag is looking nice though shit

Do you have the tools necessary for a build? Because if you do not, a build will probably cost you around the same as what it would to just buy an AR at a good price.

Regarding the Glock 43:

I remember reading all kinds of reports about reliability issues it was having when it first launched. Glock might have corrected some of these, but it's still worth testing thoroughly before you stake your life on it. It is not on the same level as the Glock 19; make sure it doesn't fail to cycle with your carry ammo.

im gonna run probably 25 rounds of my carry ammo (hst 124g) through it at the range on wednesday, testing both mags +1. Should work nicely I hope, maybe try and induce a limp wrist or shoot one handed or something too, idk.
