What are the chances that our gun laws measurably improve in the next couple years? Like maybe ending 5rnd magazine limits?

Unless there's a major shift in Canadian politics, it is very unlikely.

Well I dont know if there is a link for it, but it happened to a family friend. He found a dindu trying to crawl through his basement window (he was halfway through and the and the friend was downstairs in the basement) and hit him in the head witha a 2x4. Dindu then tried to run away but collapsed on his front yard. Unfortunately he didnt die, but he sued the friend for the damages and now the dindu is getting paid till the end of his life. Dindu said in court that "he was cold and he wanted to warm up, so that is why he decided to break into his basement". Interestingly, the first cop that arrived on scene said that he better pray that the nigger is dead, or hes gonna be fucked forever. Little did he know...

You can change the slant infront of the mag well, not matter how muh money you spend youd literally need to change the whole reciever, have you ever seen a valmet reciever flat? Theres a reason for the slant and from the pictures you posted theres no evidence of any find of alteration to change that, not that you could. And if you spend so much money, around 20k id assume, why not just buy an actual ak? Also howcome in one picture the scratch from the selector magically stops where the full auto mark is, then keeps going? Do you physically lift it in that exact spot everytime? And why is your valmet stamp on the wrong side of the rivets?

also, makes sense what his campaign people said:
1. don't go too far into gun memes, keep it politics and economics with MAXimum freedom angle
2. don't do stupid adolescent tits-everywhere memes, no racist poltard bullshit, and occasionally portray MadMax as not-Trump for the normies
3. build any good humour and positive associations you can with Mad Max and Freedom Road
you want as wide audience as possible to have as positive view of him as possible. we already know he's our guy, even CGN has a dedicated thread trying to get people to support him. for the non-gun community, and especially twatter and normiebook, keep the memes fun and clever, but free of too much gun propaganda, as that might turn noguns off

So I sent in my PAL/RPAL application priority mail on the 27th of January.

Without a doubt at this point they have received my application and put me on some kind of watch list. (hope they like trap porn)

As far as I know my references have not been called yet.

What I want to know is when is it appropriate to give them a call to push them a bit like I have read so much in the past?

There is a 28 day waiting period where they won't touch it. Since it's past that period now you POLITELY call them and ask what the progress is like or check online.
If you call, they're more likely to push it along I think. That way they'll let you know if there's any issues while you're talking over the phone.
Don't be retarded and act impatient or like an asshole or they'll do nothing. I guarantee it.
>>
>>33162818
Not entirely true
>That they don't touch it during the 28 day waiting period
When I watched the online status for my PAL (NR) basically the day it was received it was put into
>pre processing
status.
and then exactly 28 days after that it was marked as in the mail.

But yeah, AFAIK they don't really go out of their way to let you know if they've encountered any issues with the license. They'll just mail you about the issue. And the online status indicator has to be manually updated.

>13,000 people died from guns

And? Thats less than 0.01% of the population in a single year that died. Why is it such a big issue? Especially since the amount of people dying from someone using a gun has been in decline.

Even accounting for suicide you're still looking at less than 0.1% of the population. Include the injuries and you're still looking at less than 0.03% of the population.

Why don't these retards not stop and think about the numbers and look at the trends of the numbers.

Income taxes would be massively reduced/simplified for the upper and middle class, while the cutoff for no income tax would go up to $15000. That's a big deal.

Trudeau voters didn't pay shit in taxes, they were poor and/or unemployed.
>>
>>33165203
He wants to make it a flat tax rate. Even if someone earns $100,001 the tax rate would still just be 25% based on his policy. It would reduce a lot of people hiding away their personal income in tax shelters. As it'll be too expensive to pay for the tax shelters/accountants/tax lawyers to make it appear they are making less money.

He also wants corporate tax to be at 10%, which would do that same sort of thing. Or at the very least would help a lot of small businesses.

Also I forgot to add that after earning $15,001 you'd have an income flat tax rate of 15%

it's obvious you've bever ordered shit online and that's why you shouldn't guess and give advice based off that

by your logic, anyone who lives in a condo and has the consierge receive packages is basically having their consierge breaking the law. there is a reason post workers without PAL can handle packages with restricted and non-restricted firearms, front desk concierges at condos can sign for them and keep them (unless specifically asked for recipient signature by the dealer/seller) and you don't need to get an ATT if you bought a restricted and it's being mailed to you from the store (that is, you aren't transporting it yourself) -- and that is, as long as it's packaged up, it's basically treated like Schrödinger's cat. the mailman can't know 100% what's in there as long as he doesn't open the box, same goes for concierge. for those purposes they're just handling a package and who knows what's inside. Anons have been able to pick up restricted from post office with no problem.
>it's a box, who knows what's inside
>it's from the firearms dealer and Anon paid for a restricted firearm and this is the only shipment from that seller and the timeline fits
>can you 100% say they didn't ship him a heavy teddybear ahead of the gun as a thank you gift, without opening the package???
basically this simplifies a lot of legal issues around shipments and protects people who are just doing their jobs

TL;DR: if it's a piece of mail arriving to Anon's home and anon's mom or roommate picks it up, without knowing what it is or opening the package, it remains a piece of mail waiting for anon to open the box and collapse the world of possibilities into one solid reality of whether there is a firearm or a dragon dildo in there

the guy said he's a brokeass student, you expect him to afford a reloading setup? a couple years down the road reloading pays off, no doubt, but the initial investment is always fairly substantial

his real mistake as a poorfag is buying 8mm surplus firearm, without checking how much it will cost to feed it
>shoulda bought an sks and some surplus ammo

I don't particularly like glocks, but I would like a 19. Not for IPSC of course.

I already have an SKS, I bought the kar98k for historic value and because the guy selling it priced it like he didn't know what it was.

not really. more so among people new to shooting that say they'll get into it. people that feel the need to go pro in what ever they're into.

I'm sure it's fun but I can't be fucked with the commitment of it all
>>
>>33171304
well, that is the problem with alluring milsurp prices, K31 or K98 might be had for pretty cheap as far as value goes, but the ammo is not milsurp price and the lower initial cost is offset by what it takes to feed it.

you can pretend it's a museum piece and just look at it in your safe, lel

It's for action timing. Since it's a longer slide, there would necessarily be more mass and therefore the recoil spring would have to be stronger. They wanted to maintain the action speed and recoil characteristics of the G17, so you have the cutout.

>Not having an outer/screen door locked at all times
>Not having the means to look through your door or see who's really out there
>>
>>33173826
Also
>ever opening the door to police

There is never anythign to be gained from interacting with police. If they need to get in, they'll get in without your help. And if you truly dindu nuffin, they have to pay for your door repairs.
>>
>>33174152
Correct. If the police are at your door, and you must interact with them (say, you called them), then step out, and lock the door behind you.
>>
>>33174254
You can interact with them by having them outside of your door, you'll have to yell or speak loudly. Usually in the instance of them initiating contact with you at your house instead of calling them over.

Essentially, if they have no warrant don't let them in. It'll void that notion fast.
>>
>>33174304
Even if they have a warrant and are waving it in front of the peephole, you don't need to let them in if you have any doubts as to their authenticity. Just don't answer the door, and you can't get hit with obstruction charges.

in all the interviews he's been pretty firm on exactly what is said here: http://www.maximebernier.com/a_fair_gun_policy_for_canada

Local gunsmith has a nugget with a hex receiver dated 1908, good condition, price is $299. Is that a decent price for a hex? I want to pick up a mosin before the prices get too unreasonable for them but i dont know what the rough going rate for a hex is.
>>
Yeah
>>
>>33177238
If it truly is in good condition, I'd say go for it. I think I payed $220 after taxes for my beat-to-shit round receiver mosin with mismatched parts, though the rifling was still superb.
>>
>>33176873
>I could still see O'Leary getting a lot of votes simply because of how well he speaks at the debates
Wrong.
People who don't already know the politicians running are going to go
"Alright. I know fuckall about this. Who do I want to win? I don't know that guy, don't know that guy... OH! I remember that guy from TV. I think I'll vote for him."
It KILLS ME that it's how it works.

I've definitely heard worse for a normal mosin, that's probably an original M91 which is worth more than the 91/30, and there's a chance it could be something even rarer, of course if the date is actually 1908.
>>
Why is everyone so worried about o'leary? Look at the most recent numbers, hes not doing well.
>>
>>33178116
Source on that? I've been googling around daily for polls but can't find good ones from the last two weeks. Also after Trump it's reasonable to worry about O'Leary.
>>
>>33178205
>after Trump it's reasonable to worry about O'Leary
Mind explaining why? O'Queery isn't like Trump in any way and the only people that think he is are memesters on /pol/.
>>
>>33178205
O'Learys problem is the ranked ballot thing and the fact that the Conservative party electorate is pretty small, only about a 100-150k members. We will see if he can overcome those hurdles
>>
>>33170606
When I was in University I use to own a single staged lee press and reloaded 9mm for shooting at a indoor range. I literally use to take the bus or biked to a range. It was pretty sweet when I think about it
>>
>>33178116
Good, O'Leary is an anti-gun, anti-conservative moron running on the platform of "Canadian Trump" without being half as good as Trump was at his worst.
>>
>>33178230
I'm not saying he's got the chances Trump had, but we've now seen how little trust people have in ordinary politicians. This combined with his celebrity status and public ignorance make me worry.
