I'm serious when I say this but it is because someone more expensive than you or me wants something someone else has.

It is very rarely that wars are started over meaningful disputes in ideology, which is disapointing to my fantasies but whatever. It's too bad desu. Lots of times its over oil.

It's fun to watch other people fight war, and it's fun for a few crazies on the battlefield. I'm not gonna be a tough guy and act like it would be fun for me though. That being said, I do look forward to whatever conflict happens next, especially if we can get good footage of it. There's a lot of videos going around showing apaches ripping apart terrorists, but you never get to see it from the ground.

Because we do live in a world of limited resources, and other people are going to compete for those resources, and some of them will even try to kill you for these resources. It would be nice to live in a world with social guarantees and safety nets for everyone, but the universe out there is inherently cold, hostile and malevolent place.

We SHOULD fight because of ideological differences. Christians vs muslims, libertarians vs authoritarians, capitalists vs communists.

In reality we just fight because one mixed economic secular nation has an arbitrary rivalry with another mixed economic secular nation. It gets hard to tell the nations apart, and right now nations consists of people of all ideologies who would happily tear each other apart if it wasn't for the rule of law keeping them in line.

So basically, until SHTF, society continues to function as normal, with random conflicts popping up whenever someone dares to fight for something other than the status quo. But when the SHTF, you'll see the cracks in society start to show, and it'll become obvious just how stitched together and hostile our own people are to each other.

Post-war society saw the introduction of multiculturalism and the cuckservative myth of the proposition nation. They thought it would lead to a united world but humanity's tribal instincts are too strong. The unintended consequences of course have been mass alienation and widespread social stagnation. There have been a lot of other problems but I think this one thing is leading to conflict with more inevitability than any other. We leave our homes less, because we don't trust each other as much. Ideology is rendered meaningless without trustworthy people. Humankind fight for what is meaningful to them, but also to find proper meaning in their life. Very often do boys sign up to the military because their life is aimless, there is also many who would call that man an idiot for wasting his life. But it doesn't matter to him, because the meaning doesn't come from some old fuck in a chair, it comes from dying something which he valued his whole life and would do anything to protect.
