You see, for other nations to compete they need to spend as much $$, but they can't. So their wars have to be paid in bodies to even come close to touching us. But we also have an abundance of bodies too...Well trained, well fed, well educated (relative, of course) bodies. That's impossible to compete with.

Now from the US perspective...Money is cheap. The gov't can currently buy debt for almost zero interest. And if interest goes up, we can just print more money, backed by the full faith of a AAA rated country. We can make so much money that our wars can be waged more safely than Sunday interstate traffic on the I-10.

This is why I have 'balance the budget's fags. Borrowing at 0.1% and paying it back in 100 years is a SPECTACULAR deal for our country.

We're one of the most powerful countries in the world. Why not have an army to match? Plus, it's like being the head of a mafia: maybe you're te head honcho, but there's also a huge target on your head. We need an army that makes the other countries shit themselves, so we don't get taken over and royally fucked.
