/k/ommandos,
I live near Wright Patt AFB, which has the USAF Museum, from the Wright Bros to ICBMs to F-22 Raptors. I plan on going Tuesday, and if anyone has specific planes they want pictures of I'd be happy to oblige. Recently, they opened the 4th hangar and put the prototype stuff in (pic related).
When making a request, please give me a name, model, and a rough era so i know what to look for.
Examples: F-4 Phantom II, Vietnam
F-86 Sabre, Korea
fellow Dayton fag, whats up, breh?

I haven't been since they opened the new hangar. I need to suck it up and make the half-hour drive over there sometime soon.

Are those grab handles original? How did they not melt the fuck right off?
>>33133749
pinup girl art was always great.
they should bring that back
>inb4 regulations
change the regs then. This is a branch that unironically burned like a million japs to death, evaporated two cities with technology less than 100 people knew about, napalmed another million vietnamese, and god knows how many acres of forest and jungle. pinup art is low on the "things the USAF does to piss people off" scale

it basically falls how its oriented, the bottom acts like a mega heat shield so theres a massive temp gap between the top half of the capsule and the fat heat shield.

bumb of shame
bump again, i'm sure some more anons have planes they want to see.
Hey mind showing pics of the new hanger that opened last year?
Cinci anon here. I'm a big fan of the pre WW2 stuff. Aviation was slow and shitty, but those guys were pure balls. Wicker seats, open cockpits, and no belts.
Also, check out the Columbine III Super Constellation. Ike had class, man.
