Is the bundeswehr worth joining?
Not really, unless you're NEET and bored as fuck.
what useful skills can one learn there?

Not really.
I joined back when service was still semi-compulsory (Zivildienst, it's called in German). It was basically eighteen months of camping, playing football and getting drunk. I was in a Fallschirmjäger (paratrooper) unit, so I got to go skydiving a few times.
It beats a real job, though.

French Foreign Legion if you want to actually see service.

does anyone have those embarrassing webms of German boot camp?
Is there a core of the Bundeswehr with the same fighting spirit as the old German empire and the Prussians, or has all that been purged by now?

>German fighting spirit
>in the post cold war era of Merkel and the EU

Well, what if the US removes its presence from Europe an NATO? What will the Krauts do then, maybe ask the Polish, French and British to protect them?
