BCG move faster in m4 and other shorter gas system. This result in bolt hitting rear of round when feeding at velocity causing round to tilt tip down as it move forward and the nose would hit below of the extension feed ramp and hit flat of upper in rifle feed ramp type. big aperture is for closer in shooting and smaller for farther out.

big aperture also help when shooting in low light. small aperture make everything darker in low light. not fun.

dont forget to turn windage two to three click right when going from small to big due to flipping the thing on screw cause it to shift left slightly.

Another thing to try is different sling locations, mainly moving the rear point farther back.

Heavier bullet need more powder to get closer to velocity of lighter one and beating them by BC advantage in longer range. the need for more powder is due to increased weight and friction from increased bearing surface with bore. BC advantage mean jack shit if it start out too slow.

jeeze you arent bright. seeing plenty m4 feed ramp with wear is proof itself that in those with that wear in that configuration (often big gas port 16" or shorter) would have had failure if it didnt have m4 ramp.

before m4 ramp ar mostly worked fine because it was mostly used with rifle gas system and rifle buffer which cycle speed is slow and doesnt cause round tip down enough for it to hit below extension ramp. But later came higher cycling speed in shorter ar plus weak mag spring, the problem surfaced and colt solved it.

If I got a 20 inch upper with a heavy barrel with 1/7 twist. What should I do about the buffer ?

and no, I don't really need a whole lot of guns right now I am saving up for a house(I am 19 btw), and I only work in the summer (cause I am in college) 40 hours a week for $14 an hour (average of all 3 jobs as they are all through different "companies") doing laundry, rental home outside detailing(power washing, window washing, etc.) and then I work in a rental companies linen packaging section.
