What are the best DA/SA 9mm pistols?
>>
>>33091324
SIG, HK, and Beretta

Not necessarily in that order.
>>
>>33091334
Thoughts on HK P30? It's rather cheap.
>>
>>33091339
The trigger isn't as good as the SIGs or even the Beretta.
LEM is nice but it's not DA/SA :p
A good gun overall, it's basically a USP compact with ergonomic upgrades. Worth buying at the right price.
>>
>>33091324
P226
some version of the 92
dont know about HKs never shot one
>>
>>33091384
>>33091353
I kinda want a P226 yeah but they're 1400€ here.
>>
>>33091324
I am partial to the 90 series Berettas, but I would not go so far as to assert that they are better than their peers. The USP is another favorite of mine.
>I have a strange love for the 2022
>>33091353
You seem to be thinking of the p2000.

Got one and love it. Trigger is fine but it has a long reset. Ended up liking it more than I thought I would, switched to it for USPSA competition.
>>
>>33091324
In this order:
SIG P226/229
MK23
USP series
CZ75/SP01
P30 series
Sphinx SDP
FNX line
>>
>>33091391
The guts of the p30 seem really close to the p2000 and the USP compact by extension, if I'm understanding you correctly then you are right that the p30 being a p2000 upgrade is technically correct.
I like to draw the comparisons back to the USP more often than not though as more non HK people are familiar with their reputation.
>>
>>33091446

What about the snowflake single stack P225?

Canadian Navy uses them because they got a deal and were too cheap to buy anything else.
>>
>>33091500
>P225
I'd rather have one of the beat to shit world war 2 vintage hi powers your Army still uses.

Some really good DA/SA guns
>CZ P07/P09
>Beretta M92 G
>Beretta PX4 Storm
>Sig P226/P229
>Sig P239
>Sig SP2022

If you're in the US, the PX4, SP2022 and P07/P09 can be had for ~$400 which is really good. You don't neccesarily have to spent $800 for an original P-Series Sig or tuned up Beretta to have a decent DA/SA pistol.

>only own a German P226 as my DA/SA gun
>mfw picking up my PX4 Compact Carry today
>>

I'd rather not say where I'm from, don't want to get insulted.
The SP2022 is 750€ here.

The P226 is my favorite pistol so far out of everything I've tried out

I love the Beretta 90 series as well. I have a 92A1 with a TLR-1, skeletonized hammer, wilson combat trigger spring, d spring, metal guide rod, mec-gar 20 round magazines, Beretta g conversion to make it decock only, and trijicon night sights. I just bought a spare barrel and I'm sending it off to tornado technologies to have it threaded. I'm also thinking of cerakoting my gun a new color.

I dont understand why it's regarded so highly
Regardless 226s are fantastic guns. I also think the wilson Berettas are decent guns, althougo I don't like the standard models. Jericho is Bretty good too.

Whats the verdict on the Jericho 941? Also /r/ing MAC's massive youtube shitfit for being called an IWI shill.
>>
>>33093259
well the legion has polished internals and the SRT so that could be it.
>>
I vote for the all steel CZ75 Compact without the decocker. I wouldn't want to lug it around for a carry gun but it's one of my favorites.
>>
>>33091324
SIG, either P226 or P228, according what size you want.

Cost, however, is a factor.
>>
Anyone have any opinions on 3rd gen Smith's? I found a 5904 for 350 OTD and it seemed like a solid pistol.

>>33093351
Jerichos are solid guns, arguably better ergos and usually better triggers than CZs at a similar price. You also get space cowboy points for owning them.
>>
>>33093259
>>33093353

yeah i dont know what their problem could be with the W. German Sig. Mine is the best feeling, best operating pistol I've ever shot.

Fits in my hand like a glove. Functions flawlessly every time no matter what kind of ammo I use.

The only thing I did to mine is put the SRT kit in it. That did improve things quite a bit trigger-wise.
>>
>>33093259
>I dont understand why it's regarded so highly

>muh mythically reliable internal extractor!!
>"they didn't make 'em like they used to!!!!"

It's memes and cult followings. I own a german sig and while it is a good gun, I would much rather buy an early 00 stainless one with a rail.

The USP series is my favorite, I also like CZ, Beretta, and SIG.
>>
>>33093596

Smith 59 series have my favorite trigger of all time. The factory reset on those things is unmatched, even worn out and beat up.
In a few counties near me, the 5904 was used as the police duty pistol for like 20 years, so it's gotta be decent
>>
I really don't like DAO, considering my first full size pistol purchase... Was thinking of getting a 9mm 1911. I havea P938 right now, any advice? I want something with very similar ergonomically.

I'm curious, what maks the west german sig so much better than the newer production one?
I'm pretty new to handguns because my former country didnt allowed them so i dont know too much about them compared to rifles, but the ones ive shot at the range at the local shooting center were pretty similar.
The west german sig and p226 elite stainless felt almost identical with the ES having a slightly better trigger + the rails. but other than that (and the extractor) they were pretty much the same gun.
is it just the historical value behind the west german or is it really just a meme as >>33093762

All of this is wrong. The BEST DA/SA handgun is the Smith and wesson 3rd gen metal Frame series.

Bar none. I've owned/own Sigs, Berettas, FNs Caniks and used a loaned HK for a week and NONE of them have a trigger, double action OR single action, as good as my fucking 5903TSW.

Bunch on gun broker in the US.
>>
>>33095687
Generally spraking, american made firearms are pretty shit compared to european guns.
That is, the us consumer buy a gun and will most likely not shoot more than a couple of hundred rounds.
In europe on the other hand, people are only allowed to Get guns if They USE Them in competitions/practice.

This crestes two completely different Neds, one is Cheap, reliable and expendable. And the other High performance, made to last and shoot.
Dont know the specifics of the west german vs murrican sigs, but I know for a fact the there is a Huge difference between the german comp sigs and the us made comp sigs

>>
>>33104700
bullshit.
just because they're legally required to use their guns, does not mean they're all high-volume shooters. I'd bet there's more high-volume shooters (10,000+ rounds/year) shooters in the US than there are Euro gun owners.
Not commenting on quality of their respective nations' guns, though.
>>
>>33091324
>What are the best DA/SA 9mm pistols?
You should really be asking "what are the best defensive pistols." It's so strange to categorize handguns by the firing system, instead of by the size or capacity.
>>
>>33099602
It's not a soldiers gun.
>>
>You should really be asking "what are the best defensive pistols

Not if he wants to know what the best DA/SA 9mm pistol

Also you are making an assumption as to whether or not he wants a "defensive" handgun

>It's so strange to categorize handguns by the firing system, instead of by the size or capacity.

No it isn't, you can further categorize based on options but that should come after mechanical operation.

Go away strikerbaby glockfag
>>
>>33104949
>Not if he wants to know what the best DA/SA 9mm pistol
There are many aspects of, and factors in the selection of, a defensive handgun. Firing system is only one. I can name several factors that are a lot more important, such as the capacity, weight, size, handling while shooting, trigger quality and how it fits an individual shooter's hand. All of those are much more important to a skilled shooter than whether your first trigger pull is a little longer and heavier than subsequent shots. A skilled shooter can deal with any kind of firing system and there are good triggers to be found in pistols of all firing system types, but a weapon's capacity, weight, size, handling and trigger quality are what really set it apart from the rest.
>Also you are making an assumption as to whether or not he wants a "defensive" handgun
That's correct, since DA/SA was designed SPECIFICALLY FOR carry. Whether you call that "defensive" use or "duty" use is up to you, but the idea is that the user is making a minor compromise in shootability in order to gain a slightly safer gun to carry in the preferred condition with no manual safety engaged. Otherwise, if you're just going to use your gun at the range for target shooting, the double action feature is pointless. Might as well get a single action or striker-fired pistol.

>No it isn't, you can further categorize based on options but that should come after mechanical operation.
It is very strange to put a heavy, low capacity Sig P239 in the same category as a lightweight, high capacity FN FNX-9, just because both are "DA/SA" pistols. I wouldn't call capacity, weight, size, handling or trigger quality "further categorization." These are the primary categories. Firing system type is incidental to the design.

>Go away strikerbaby glockfag
I don't own any Glocks, but I guess it helps you deal with your inadequacies if you pretend that I am so you can have someone to project all your self-hatred onto.

I dont doubt you're wrong, but its about the market share. To be successful in europe you need to market yourself to the lagre % of high volume shooters.
In the us the money is in large part in the low volume market. The high volume market is a Niche, relatively speaking. Which is partly owned by smaller custom manufacturers and european guns like sigs euromade x series, tanfo, cz, bul etc.

In short, the us market is so large that manufacturers can afford to handle the relatively few reclamations, due to excessive use. In europe They wouldnt be able to to that since a very large part of their market is high volume users.
