I sold a gun for the first time last week. Been collecting for 7 years, have 23 guns. It was a cheap AR I built but didn't enjoy shooting. living in the city i get it. As for ammo being expensive, really depends on what you shoot and how much at one time. I shoot my 45 about once a week but generally only put about 25 rounds through it. 50 rounds for 20 bucks every 2 weeks, no different than a case of coors light.

I dont like the finnish M39 mosin. i think the sights are stupid large and the gun overall is needlessly heavy and the only thing it has going for it is the semi-pistol grip. i much rather prefer the original m91 or any other type of mosin besides the standard m91/30

I think AR pistols are the most retarded looking shit in the world.

I fail to see a point in buying pistols worth less than $1,200 other than CCW compacts. The only two uses for a pistol are CCW and competition, which rules out virtually all $400-800 'service pistols' except for carry versions. Carrying a full size pistol is pointless. The 1911 pattern remains unmatched as a competitive handgun simply due to the layout and interface between trigger and sear. No 1911 under $1,200 is worth owning. No major brands make good 1911s without significant aftermarket work. A fully loaded Wilson Super Custom is worth every penny of the $7,000 price tag if you're good enough to make use of it.

I can't sight in a new scope for shit. I can, but it takes me way more ammo than it should. My dad on the other hand can do it in just a few shots and have it spot on everytime. So it's for that reason I shoot mainly iron sights or red dot as I can figure those out easier.

I fucked up the build on both these uppers just a little little bit, and only realized it yesterday. The gas tubes weren't running straight into the uppers, and were rubbing on the BCGs. In the .308, it was bad enough that it wouldn't reliably cycle 7.62 NATO, only full power .308. I figured it out when I assembled the .300 Memeout and put it on my AR, using my old BCG & CH, and found it would only go into battery with some resistance. Tweaked the gas tube just slightly and it cycled smoothly. Realized THAT'S what was wrong with the .308 and fixed it. Been like that for months.

I have been shooting IDPA since I was 13 and I can tell you that every single facet, angle and surface of a WSC is as close to mechanical perfection as is possible. Every single thing on that gun either moves or feels as if it were made of greased glass. The trigger is the shortest, lightest, and smoothest mechanical sear my finger has ever tripped. It has no takeup. No slack. No grit. No anything. You touch it, and you know exactly where the break is and how much pressure to apply. The reset is equally short and sweet. The bluing is the deepest, darkest and most crisp bluing I have ever seen in my life. I have held and operated one. If I had to pick something to shill for, it'd be those guns. They are perfect. There is no other word for it.

If you don't enjoy shooting ARs, you don't enjoy shooting. You may enjoy things related to the act of shooting, you may enjoy the hobby but you dp not enjoy the act itself. Only accurate guns are interesting and not liking a accurate, cheap and easy to use platform for some intangible je ne sais quois is directly counter to this. Garands are cool, shooting them is cool. Wood stocked guns are pretty and its cool colleting them but my confession is that if you don't like shooting ARs for various ephemera then i think less of you as a shooter.

At first it was like "Yeah, I can see the use for them but if I'm not mounting anything on them, I don't think I need one." And there was peace in the valley and none of my guns had rails and all was fine.

Then I decided I want to get a Jericho 941 in my collection and I can't find a single one without a rail fucking up the sexy lines of the pistol. Now it's like everytime I see the rails I go full REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
