Is it that one on AK Files with the lite rail?

Calguns. I'm a CAfag. And yes fde ris II...the ultimate meme rail
>>
Are VZ58s allowed here?
>>
>>33078597
If it's a socom barrel with a 4 prong hider and the BCG then it's just a matter of if you want a shitty meme AR or an AK, if not you're getting ripped off

/arg/ has been going through those rails at about 350-400 for a few weeks now
>>
>>33078604
It's a brand new DDM4A1 upper. With the fde ris 2 meme rail, bcg, chf 14.5 barrel, and everything. I just know they are unobtainium fetch a high price. Not sure what converted saigas go for in free America.
>>
Oh shit we have to actually talk about guns now
>>
>>33078623
Between 7-900

Upper is a shit then since the barrel isn't any good for a clone, and that's the only reason to even get a RIS II

New AK owner, what are the best mags for the money? Because I've seen issues with the Magpul crap, and I don't know enough to go for a steel box.

Advice?
>>
>>33078793
7.62 or 5.45?

7.62 bakelites

5.45 plums
>>
>>33078821
You can't read
>best mags for the money
Steel is cheap and work. Not everything has to be bakes, plums and true blacks
>>
>>33078838
>>best mags for the money

I can read, quality magazines are the best magazines for the money. I would much rather have one bake instead of three or four steels

Hell I would rather have gen3 pmags than steels and when it comes to 5.45 your only option for steels is beryl mags so once again you should get bakes or blacks/plums at least until magpul makes some proper 5.45 mags

>hurr steel works
then go buy steels fat, dumb, steel mag scum
>>
>>33078857
Autism
>>
>>33078857
I agree with you on 5.45
For 7.62 though, I prefer steel. I'd rather have 4 steel mags over 1 bakelite. I can't even notice a weight difference in hand. Also, I can't beat a motherfucker with a bakelite.
>>
>>33078753
If it's Russian, the proper finish is shellac directly over bare wood. No modern polyurethanes. Use denatured alcohol to remove the old shellac, then paint the new shellac on. Now creating the shellac can be tricky, as it involves a ratio of chemicals, so I would do some more research.
>>
>>33079057
>creating the shellac can be tricky, as it involves a ratio of chemicals
It's just shellac flakes and denatured alcohol.

Now there is a method or Pound cut ratio, that is somewhat important.

https://www.shellac.net/PoundCutChart.html

One can also buy premixed shellac at most hardware stores.
More than a few guys have had great results with Zinsser Amber shellac.

This guy's instructions (halfway down) seemed to produce really nice results

why would a 10/63 be covered in cosmo? I thought they were specifically made for the commercial market (granted they were made with military parts kits) and the only reason to use cosmo was long term storage of military arms.
or am I completely fucking retarded?

Package has:

>izmash bakelite 30 rounder
>izmash plum 30 rounder

I already have:

>bfpu molot 45 rounder
>unissued izmash 30 round bakelite
>two plum izmash 30 rounders

So nobody actually read what Legion posted, did they?

http://kommersant.ru/doc/3212116

Molot is just in bankruptcy, and will still produce weapons.
>Unless KC buys them, they'll likely still show up

Legion seems to be trying to cause panic buying.
>If there's no panic, there's no panic buyers
>>
>>33081233
>unless KC buys them
That deal was already in the works, the only thing that delayed it was the 2014 sanctions.
>>
>>33081233
Isn't the US market one of the few places where they ARE making money?
Wouldn't that keep up even if they shave some non-profitable business interests?
Also, aren't they state owned? So they don't go out like a normal company?
>>
>>33081233
Thanks for that, I figured it was nothing more than fear mongering by Legion to have their stock of Veprs emptied.

They are. KC is not, so to keep selling guns to the US Molot didn't sell to KC.

>>33081285
Doesn't KC already own 60% of Molot? This doesn't look good however we weren't going to seem RPKs imo
>>
>>33081271
Molot wasn't one of the sanctioned companies. If it got absorbed into KC then it would be sanctioned. But now that I think about it, KC knows this, and they know if they buy Molot then Molot will definitely no longer be profitable when it can't sell to the US. Why buy out a company when doing so will kill that company's (probably) largest market? The US is probably a huge portion of Molot's sales.

>>33081201
I'll give you $1150
>>
>>33081271
The sanctions cover Rostec, the parent company of KC. Molot has been facing bankruptcy for years and was about to be acquired by Rostec in 2014. I've head different reports about how far along the deal was. Regardless, the entire thing was put on hold to keep exports flowing to the US.

From the memoirs of Mikhail Kalashnikov:

"Besides, I told the marshal that the officers of the 40th Army approached us with a request to immediately produce and supply them with units of magazines with increased capacity and will also include pilot hole to be able to verify the absence or presence. cartridges. The arguments were as follows: soldiers complain that "did not have time to pull the trigger, and the shop is already empty." to this Marshal of artillery Kuleshov said: "We need to teach soldiers to shoot precisely, in short bursts, and do not press the trigger and out of fear to keep until you run out of ammo. "
Nevertheless, we have decided to question with increasing magazine capacity and shipped to Tashkent to send to Afghanistan a large batch of magazines 45 rounds of ammunition, as well as devices for mating regular stores."

Speaking of helicopter crewmen, the AKS74U is an iconic weapon of Soviet helicopter crewmen of the Soviet Afghan War. Is there an American counterpart for American helicopter crewmen in Vietnam? Anyone know specifics on what the American crews were armed with?

In the two conflicts the helicopter played a massive role, with the Hip and Hind being the iconic Soviet helicopters and the Huey being the American helicopter, but in the Soviet conflict the helicopter crews' AKS74U is just as iconic as the helicopters whereas the Americans don't really have a counterpart in helicopter crew weapons that is as iconic as the 74U.

thing is a brick of metal you'd have a pretty hard time trying to convince me that it's very fragile

zeroing is the most painful thing ive ever had to do gun-related in my life though, must be re-zeroed if removed, must be removed to clean weapon, and can be completely bricked by the loss of some ball bearings involved in the tedious zeroing process

obviously go with something else or something western if you can afford it or cant find the side-rail version. pretty sure anyone here will suggest the obzor over it but that thing is ugly as sin desu

anyone know where i can find a bulgarian triangle folding stock for slr series rifles?

Certain sites i have looked at have all been out of stock
>>
>>33084717

What's the difference between a Bulgarian triangle and a Tula ribbed krink triangle? I mean other than country of origin.
>>
>>33084909
Welds, mostly. The Russian weds are much larger and not nearly as clean. You can tell Izzy from Tula/Bulgy by their flat buttplates and unrolled struts, but the primary giveaway between Tula and Bulgy is going to be the size of the spot welds and how thick the welds are near the trunnion. Russian stocks will sometimes have small proof marks on the sling plate as well.

The stocks in the post you replied to are Tula top, Bulgy bottom.

(in reality, most people will never know, so feel free to substitute one for the other)
>>
>>33084964

Neato, so that's what it is. I just threw a 4.5mm pin Russian flatback on my slr104 because Bulgarians were nowhere to be found by the time I picked mine up. For some reason the akfiles marketplace was fucking flooded with the things around that time as well, so it worked out.

>>33085808
For the exact same price though you can just buy steel mags that will outlast your (nonexistent you fucking virgin) grandchildren

The tapco ones will work, but sooner or later they will fail and break. The locking lugs are plastic and with repeated use they will shear off. It isn't a matter of if but when

Would a possible way for the Russians to get around sanctions be to sell parts to Bulgaria and have them assembled and imported from Bulgaria as a "Russian" line of product? Would that get around any restrictions or would it still be a no go?

Hi Powers are made in Belgium and assembled in Portugal, and although there obviously aren't any import restrictions on Belgium and it's all just to save money on FNs part, could something like that work for AKs?

I'm just wondering where those prices come from.
Because it's obviously not fair market value, so did the shill just double (or triple) the price he paid?
Just curious about the thought process behind this shit.

>Yes there's a lot of new people here who will probably pay his prices
>That doesn't mean those of us who know even a little more can't call him on his horrible prices.

Was just perusing the MP and saw a much better deal on (roughly) the same stuff he was offering, to be honest.

That's strange because last year 100% of my international packages required a signature but this year I've gotten 3 and all three did not.

I was wondering if you ever found the lost one.
Did you ever figure out HOW you lost it? Had you disassembled your spring/guide at some point and possibly not put it back together correctly?
