I sold my DPMS AR-10 not long ago, but I also currently have a SOCOM 16 M1A, SCAR 17, Imbel FAL, and a PTR 91. The FAL is the one I've shot the least as shortly after I got it the FSE trigger group started going full auto and I've since tried to fix it with a Belgian trigger group, still fucking up. I've not shot the VEPR .308 but I need one.

The PTR is hands down, the best bang for the buck and between magazine cost and the sub $1000 price it's the ultimate poorfag battle rifle. I wish I had the meme saved with the "poorfag" battle rifle starter kit or w/e with the PTR. I love the roller delay blowback, I love how simple it is. I don't love the length of pull on the stock and how the collapsible stock is like near $300 or some bullshit, but I"m a manlet with small reach, so...

My quick thoughts on the rest:

The BEST battle rifle, and the BEST fucking semi auto rifle on the market, period, hands down. Not talking about cost, I'm talking about literally everything else you would judge a fighting rifle on. It wins them all, if you don't agree you probably haven't shot one.

I'm bitter mine has been broke since I got it, but I don't get the appeal of this one besides historical significance. It's heavy, it's actually pretty complex and parts for them seem to be a PITA to get compared to other battle rifles.

One of my favorites, I need a scout squad though. Even the SOCOM is fun, and one of my favorite rifles ever. Mags are expensive. Pretty much everything for these is expensive, so you really have to like the rifle to justify the costs for everything. All of the ones I've shot have been pretty fucking accurate. Also one of the best iron sights ever.

I really don't like STP tho

I've dealt with Ruger, Smith&Wesson, and Henry and they all had excellent customer service.
I put the recoil spring in backwards in my Ruger P90 and it gouged up the guide rod, causing it to be rough when you cycled it by hand (didn't affect shooting performance at all) so when I called to order a new guide rod they sent it to me for free and told me how to make sure I had the spring on there correctly.
