Daily reminder that if you do not use a weapon mounted light on your HD gun, you are one bad mistake away from potentially causing a life altering accident. good responsible gun owners use WMLs.

If you can look straight at a 600 lumen light, acquire your sights and shoot accurately before I spot/shoot/move, then you are a robot, not a person.

>>
>>33073576
It took a little work to get it tightened down evenly. Haven't had any problems with it since it's on there right without any wobble

What >>33073779 said.Scouts have more throw than spill, but I'm sure Malkoff makes a head that can change that if you want
>>
>>33073754

Surefire Scout M600 is surefire's 2 cell 600 lumen rifle light. Output is more cone than flood. If you need a floody light, get an X300. It's primarily a handgun light but works fine on longguns if you expect to use in closer quarters and prefer flood over extreme distance.

wouldn't a shotgun with some buck shot be greatly more effective at fucking up an intruder than a fucking handgun with it's tiny holes
>>

Yeah, its harder to get a light on a shotgun while using it according to modern convention.
>>
>>33074124

>>33074169
If I'm in that situation I may have kids to be sheparding around so having a free hand is good. P09, 21 + 1 with the CZ extended baseplates. I have capacity. Stopping power is a meme, place 3-5 9mm rounds in someones torso and leave the room as quickly as possible moving yourself and your family to a defensable position and call the cops. They probably won't come looking for you.
>>
>>33073367
>Modern tactics involve using WML too retard.
Which is why almost no police force or federal agency standard issues them, right?
>>
Anyone have experience with olight handgun lights? I use their flashlights and quality seems on par with streamlight/surefire. Haven't seen their weaponlights in person though.
>>
>>33074250
Except they do, especially to their swat teams.

>maglights for beating people and affordable dependability

Fuck that obsolete junk. Streamlights make outstanding rechargeable handheld. Maglites are for scrapping into solvent traps. They were OK in the ancient days of Ray-O-Vac chrome household flashlights, but that's ancient history.
>>
>>33074262
There is a video out there of one being broken from normal use.
>>
>>33074223
Then don't use a fucking light, or find another way to light them up. I'd rather be shooting them with a shotty or ak than a fucking handgun just to play with my little light.

We aren't talking about playing with a light, we are talking about being responsible and following rule 4 of gun safety while using a gun at night.

My point was that there is a reason the common choice these days is pistol or AR-15

>>
>>33074459
You put it on momentarily to search then spot your target. You shoot, turn off your light then move away from where you were standing, then repeat until you are safe.
>>
Just use a hand held light. It's cheaper and works just as well.
>>
>>33074453
ITT: garbage trips.
>>
>>33074515
No it doesn't, because it compromises your shooting grip, and get be used as well with a shotgun or a rifle.
>>
>>33074223
pretty sure it's not to hard to get a light mounted on the fore grip

hell, this one literally just clamps to the barrel/magtube
>>
>>33074560
>pretty sure it's not to hard to get a light mounted on the fore grip

You usually have to replace the foregrip itself if it doesn't come with the gun already. The guns that have it cost 200 dollars more, the grip itself usually costs 100 dollars more.

Harder is subjective obviously, but simply buying a light and mounting it is not as easy as the other 2 options.
>>
>>33074560
>>33074595
i forgot the link, but it seems clamp mounts tend to a fairly common solution based on a quick googling

http://www.mountsplus.com/AR-15_Accessories/AR-15_Scope_Rings/SP-002-G2X-T-MODC.html
>>
>>33074660
Yeah, thats not a good mount especially since most defense shotguns are pumps. You need the light or the switch for the light to be on the pump. When shooting that gun with that light the recoil is going to hurt your thumb.
>>
>>33074504

> fucking with your light constantly turning it on and off and moving around away from cover constantly instead of focusing on staying hidden, aiming, or listening for other threats

>You trying to shoot up someone while they're in their car? Fuck off with this tacticool shit already.

I was posting this video in the hopes that you would do some critical thinking and only focus on the low light part. Also if you spend time around cars you may very well have to fight from one. You sound just as bad as the anti-gunners.

>If they aren't SOF then they aren't professional.

Travis Haley was force recon. So yes he is a professional.
>>
>>33074312
Some things to consider about maglights,

Some people live in weapons prohibitive areas, in which case large, 6D mags are are a good deterent.

Streamlights arent available at you're local corner store, but most retailers actually carry maglights, and the batteries to go in them, including the 2 or 3-D cells and the minimags

The AA LED minimags are my go to in my vehicles and my assorted bags for their combination of brightness, durability, affordability, and their use of batteries that are more common than the streamlights rechargables or the CR123's.

Forgive my ignorance, but how are these set up? I'm thinking of getting a light for a g19

>>33073376 is the only pic where it seems that there's the pressure pad on the grip to turn on the light. Do you have to turn on other pistol lights?
>>
if this an HD situation, why not just turn on your fucking lights?

if you're not to concerned with the gubment spying on you through your lightbulbs (i'm pretty sure they do) then you light up the whole house with one app and clear without giving the intruders/bad guys/atf something to aim at
>>
>>33076571

By turn on it mean like with an on off button or switch
>>
>>33076571
many rifle lights come with a swappable pressure switch cap

so if you can find a light you like, it might come in a rifle variant
>>
>>33074311
am i the only one that noticed that pam from archer fired way after the male officer's string and the threat was more or less neutralized at that point?
>>
>>33072983
I live alone. No chance of shooting someone by accident.
>>
>>33074595
my tlr 1 hl mounts just fine on my mlok forend on my m590a, barrel shadow its outside of my field of fire and the added bous is that it highlights the front sight
>>
>>33076584

But I want it for a g19. So do these pressure pads also come standard with most pistol lights?

Also idk if it's just Hollywood trash, but what about a strobe light?
>>
>>33076715
>>33076619
>>
>>33076571
There is a switch by the trigger guard. I recommend the XC1.
>>
>>33076582
Because then they can actually see you and know where you are, on top of the fact that you may not be able to reach the light switch.
>>
>>33076659
Yes, I addressed this already. You have to replace the fore grip in order to mount that light. That adds difficulty in using a light on that gun, It would also be difficult to use the standard switch in the correct manner.
>>
>>33076715
>So do these pressure pads also come standard with most pistol lights?

No, Surefire makes an add on to the X300 for glocks, you can look on their website.

>Also idk if it's just Hollywood trash, but what about a strobe light?

I think it is because you are not going to live the light on for it to matter anyway.
