Does anyone know anything about the UNSOG apart from what is stated on wiki? Like equipment, training, recruitment, selection ect. They look like quite an interesting unit and I would love to know more about what they do and where they operate.

>UNSOG
No such thing exists.

Has a wiki page with its history? Is it just bait?

>Has a wiki page with its history? Is it just bait?
Lots of wiki pages are fake news based on hearsay and urban legends.

What is with this new fucking meme where people refer to anything that is untrue/bullshit as "fake news"? This dhit is borderline Orwellian
>>
>>33072491
why, the term is descriptive and appropriate. what's Orwellian is that fake news exists, not that ppl are pointing it out.
>>
So United Nations Special Operations Group is definitely not real. :(
>>
>>33072280
there level 5 clearance so basically there will be no pictures or anything known about them really except that they will be more heavily trained then current special forces around the world
>>
>>33072544
also technically not adjoined to anything other than the un as a whole
>>
>>33072544

Thanks for making shit up parkourdude.

Why the fuck would the UN need special operations when they won't even fire a shot when a bunch of rwandans are hacking each other up with machetes. They are shitty peacekeepers and you think they are going to start doing special ops shit. Retarded.

If any work needed to be done whatever country in concerns can send their own special forces.
>>
>>33072491
just look up fake news and alternative facts on gooble

new speak and double speak are already here anon

The phrase itself was coined as a way to describe what we've been identifying perfectly well for years as "propaganda". "Propaganda" is descriptive and appropriate. "Fake News" is shit a fucking toddler would say. It's some kind of Newspeak prole term that appeared in the media shortly after Trump was elected in order to pass along the blame for Western media's delusional reporting and corporate ownership. The fact that it's caught on in such a big way is worrying.
>>
>>33072280
And what would be the point? The only point would be to be used by Brussels and Western forces to coerce other UN members or the few african dictators that ARENT in the UN, otherwise there would be an international council deciding what they do. So basically it would be a NATO SOF Taskforce.

So basically a UK, US and maybe German joint task force. Of which im sure there already exists.

Tl;dr: the core concept of UNSOG is pretty flawed unless its sole purpose is to fuck up the handful of nations that arent in the UN.
>>
Mostly burgers under America's control at best.
>>
>>33072491
basically a thing that leftists have created as one of their usual tactics of accusing their enemy of what they themselves are guilty of.
>>
>>33072601
fake news is what Clinton used to slander trump and trump supporters. and it backfired, being applied by trump and trump supporters to CNN and the rest of hillary shills. it's not worrysome, it's ironic justice.
>>
>>33072609
What about non governmental organisations or like belligerents who aren't in the UN like boko haram? Surely the SOG would provide the UN with a set of rapid reaction "teeth" or intelligence gathering for potential war crimes.
>>
>>33072280
I heard when they go on a company run they start in spain and their turnaround point is estonia
>>
>Orbital Drop Shock Trooping Intensifies
>>
>>33072747
kek thats what I first thought when I read that too.
>>
>>33072684
It would be the mandate of the state in which the belligerents were operating to deal with the threat, if they request UN help, then they may be able to choose who comes to their aid in terms of peacekeepers, if not then its luck of the draw as to who has the best operational capability in that region; if its in Africa then its most likely to be the French, UK, Belgians, ex colonial powers with good diplomatic ties.

Canada deployed JTF2 to deal with Boko Haram after that kidnap of 300 schoolgirls, not sure whether it was at the UNs behest or not, and the French Foreign Legion is basically a roaming anti guerilla force in many french speaking African nations.
>>
>>33072864
Shame, could have been like a rainbow 6 teir squad. Still holding out hope for it as a military unit.
>>
>>33072973
It could be very plausible for it to be a joint command unit, as in, whoever is heading the Security Council at the time contributes their own special forces troops, or major nations from the SC have SOF troops contributed in some type of cycle or slot system. As in, if the US is backing a major action within the SC, a squadron of Deltas as thus assigned under UN-SOG for a certain period of time as the go-to special forces for any UN operation.
All purely conjecture though, but makes more sense than having some massive multinational multilingual multi-agenda team of global operators.
>>
>>33073010
Surely it would just be the permanent members who contribute rather than cycling units from countries that arnt. I really wish there was a multinational unit though.

Most ground infantry get miniguns and hand grenades. Heavy support are abrams tanks and humvees. They fight PMC/cultist guerillas over green rocks.
