Howdy Kameraden
My granny owned a Junkyard. When she died, i inherited pic related.
I know shit about old guns. Can you tell me anything about it? Age, Region of origin, use or something?
Thanks folks!
Nobody? :(
Looks like a jezail.

This, and could very well be valuable.

>jezail
>>33071268
are there any markings i could look for? Thank you!
>>33071306
Arab or middleastern shit.
>>33071319
all i can find is 4 circles, arranged in a square, each of them has a dot in them. Its located on the shoulder pad part of the stock.
>>33071306
Any kind of artwork or engraving on it?
>>33071335
Can you take a pic?
>>33071343
yes, the thin metall bits which hold wood and barrel together are all made of different materials and have endravings or hammerings or what ever you call them, shall i make pics?
>>33071306
they are generally unmarked, and have been produced continuously for hundreds of years in middle east. it might be old or really old.
>>33071350
yes, pics please.
sorry to hear about your grandma also.
>>33071358
Its okay, she wanted to die and i knew it was going to happen :)

The circles/holes actually looks more like something was attached there at one point. The barrel bands look really cool. I'm completely uneducated on the subject beyond knowing what a jezail is but the patterns look kinda north african.
>>33071432
dont know about the cicles, but north african could be right...might got over here from spain as well, since the arabs used to be there...
>>33071456
Yeah, it's plausible. Neat piece, OP. Take care of it.
>>33071474
Thank you, i will get a nice showcase for it :)

I think you should surrender that weapon of mass murdering to your local refugue center, you're not allowed to own that in europe, I'm connecting to the authorities now.

Ian from forgotten weapons did a relatively informative video on jezails.
>>33071544
i got a hunting licens and a save full of guns, i'm good, thank you :)
>>33071544
That'd theoretically be giving it back to the original owners at least. But nah, OP got that shit fair and square from his grams. It'll look good on his wall.

A moukhala rather than a Jezail I think. North Africa somewhere west of Egypt, I think the stock here may suggest Morocco specifically.

19th century tends to be common for these things.

Guy who suggested "jezail" here. I was not aware of moukhala, so thanks for the education.
>>33071851
mine is smoothbore, are they normally?
>>33071892
Dunno. Doesn't seem like an unheard of feature though at least, but I really don't have a clue how much rifling was around in the region when. The vikingsword people might know.
Pic is an old Swedish hunting rifle, for no particular reason.
>>33071919
ill ask them soon :)
its nice :O
>>33071356
or if they are marked, it'll be with fake Euro proof stamps and such
that's cool as fuck, OP
