I found this webley on the local gun store, i am interested on buying it.
On the store they told me it is a 32 S&W caliber revolver, but on the internet they pointed out that on the barrel it says "38" implying it is 38 short the actual caliber of this gun is .38 S&W.
Can /k/ identify what model of webley this revolver actually is?
Also how old it can be?
Also what is the real caliber of this webley revolver.

If I had to guess it's a Webley .38/200

Do you have any pictures of marks and the gun that weren't taken with a camera phone from ten years ago?
>>
>>33064560
That image came too small, posting another one bigger.
>>
>>33064571
That are the only one i took.
>>
>>33064589
Okay so only one has a mark I can read and it's >>33064579

Again if I had to take a guess, I would say that it's a .38/200 Service Revolver

It can fire .38 S&W but I would be careful
>>
looks like a mark III.
>>
>>33064610
I don't know if there is that ammunition over here, i am not in burgerland where there is an abundance of supply of ammo.
>>
>>33064530
dunno but its a webley you need
>>
>>33064634
>mark III.
The barrel is longer than a mark III

OP are you by any chance an Argentinian?
>>

Spurless hammer makes it a tankie
>>
>>33064610
M8, the .38/200 was them pushing that thing as hard as the could. I wouldn't worry about any Commercial ammo avaliable.

>>33067221
Yes i posted this same question on the other chan.
>>33070616
It isn't spurless, it a normal hammer.
Also tankie means that such variant was issued to tank crew personel?

Tankie is not a collector word. its just that anon being a downie.

They were issued to tank crews but they had a snub nose barrel and a bobbed hammer.

This one looks like a commercial variant, possibly issued to a police force. I don't see any british acceptance marks and the lack of "war finish" means it was pre or post war manufacture.

Holy shit I don't know how, but since the moment a saw the pics you posted, something told me "yup that's an Argentine gunshop" probably the way guns where arranged or those orange flags in the revolvers. Plus the legacy shirt kinda gives it away.
>>
>>33064530

Looks like a Webley & Scott Mark III Police made between 1897 to 1945.
You're welcome..
>>
>>33064530
Looks exactly like my .38 S&W
>>
>>33071781
They put that plastic thing over the entry of the bullets on the revolver, possibly to prevent customers from introducing a round in the chamber.
I didn't know that something gave it away as argentine, except the shirt which shirt which is from a local brand.
I think im going to buy this revolver, because its very cheap, the ammo on the other hand is hard to find.
>>
>>33072566
So this revolver could be over 100 years old?
Also webley revolvers are rare here, this is the first i saw first hand.
>>
>>33072790
No, the Mark IV was first produced 1932. They aren't exactly rare but what gets collectors hard are the ones in .455, especially if not shaved for .45 ACP

>>33072780
Ammo is a bit of a bother with the older cartridges and I'd take up reloading for it. Casting and powder coating is probably going to be the absolute cheapest way, the rifling is meant for plated bullets and that acts like it.
>>
Happy shooting you lucky bastard.

I've been looking for a a webley for years but they're always way over priced.
>>

Thanks i guess.
