>>33062234
>inferior a2 sights
The a2 sights are far superior to the A1s.
The 5/8 in longer stock is perfect for me, but I'm also 6ft 5.
The only things that were truly wrong was the burst and weird barrel profile.
>>33062184
>/arg/ loves keymod
>/arg/ hates A1s
This is why we want you normie faggots to stay out.
>>33062147
Sounds like someone wants to get hurt.
>>33062923
>The a2 sights are far superior to the A1s.
They're great until you realize they're meant for a combat rifle and that adjustment knobs sticking out a half mile that can be easily bumped and moved are fucking retarded. The A1 sights had it right; you sight it in at the range and then nothing short of a deliberate act will adjust them. Marines fucked up yet again.
>>33062134
3 prong flash suppressor, gets caught on stuff.
Kind of long, but still very light weight. I'm a manlet, so I prefer shorter guns, but the A1 is still plenty manageable.
>>33062142
1/12 twist is fine for 55 grain bullets, which at the time were what was most common. Even now, 55grain M193 is nothing to laugh at.
>>33062147
A2 offers what exactly?
A stock just long enough to be awkward? A stupid barrel profile that is thick in the wrong places?
Sights are kind of a wash. The 2 sizes of apertures are nicer, but the elevation dial is another piece of complexity into a simple machine.
3 round burst is just stupid. Its too many to keep a steady aim, and not enough to get back on target. 2 round would be more accurate. 5 round would result in more actual hits.
The plastic furniture is sturdier, but less comfortable. This is supposed to be an upgrade, not a side step.
>>33062549
File name indicates it a Colt SP-1, and I don't see the pin for the auto sear. It is a civilian sport rifle, not a military assault rifle.

I like the deflector they put on the A2, but they should've used the air force's "no forward assist" ordering...
>>33063260
Pretty much. Not giving a god-damn about "good taste" has been one of the best changes I've ever made to my life. Rewording my last post with s-staggered l-letters! won't suddenly make me start caring what people on Rhodesian salt mining collective have to say. I like my rifle. I dislike milsurpdude and most other trips (even if I like their arsenals/builds) for their attitudes. Beyond the rare extremely niche expertise questions they can answer, there is no reason to listen to the opinions of trips or other anons except entertainment value. If it's not entertaining or informative, then it's just more cancer to be disregarded.

Every goddamn time.
>>33063653
Never press checked,
Never had an issue with chambering on muh AR.
Now, the sks...
>>33063710
Maybe try shooting more, press checking is a very basic component of using a combat rifle (look up what SPORTS means) and there are plenty of instances where the BCG may need a quick tap to go into battery. The assist does nothing to harm the rifle and only makes the matters it's meant to address easier.
>>33063078
Friendly reminder that getting rid of fixed carry handles was a mistake.
>>33063260
>>t-taste is a social construct!
Just like gender.
>>33063787
The main complaint is that someone might panic and start smashing the forward assist when something goes belly up. It's not something removing it would fix in my opinion but it's not really essential when you can just fix it by removing the T in SPORTS.
It's like a 2 dollar part so I don't see why not have it on there, just can see why people might not find it necessary

Know what's stiffer and even more harder to adjust? A1 sights. Know what don't stick out to get whapped by a wooden post at the range when you turn and fuck up your 50y zero? A1 sights. Rekt.

>>33062147
The only improvement the A2 had over the A1 and pre-A1 rifles were the reinforcements to the front takedown pin hole and the buffer tube insert thing (what's that called?).
Beyond that, the changes were either ineffective or a detriment.

##kingcuck
>>33064981
The only improvement the A2 had over the A1 was the sturdier plastic used for the furniture.
There are plenty of A1 lowers kicking around with literally millions of rounds through them (many Mk18s, for example) that prove that the A2 lower reinforcements are redundant.
>>33062147
>>33062134
I love my A2 but I agree it's not peak. I personally have nothing against the barrel profile or the grip nub. The stock length is pretty bad; I have an A1 stock but for whatever reason the buffer tube is just a few millimeters too long and the stock won't fully seat into the receiver.
I've never shot with A1 sights so I can't compare
Currently looking into making my A2 a target gun with an HBAR 1/9 barrel, freefloat A2 handguards, .050 diameter front sight post, national match rear aperture (can't find it anywhere), LaRue MBT. I came decide if I want to build this on a secondary A2 upper or if I want to do it on a flat top with a detachable carry handle
