Well to be fair, I haven't seen anyone else with my rain set, so we could be in the same boat there. I don't think I've seen anyone with a winter set either.
I'm still a tad salty you snatched that set up, though.
>>33063790
Ripcord of IACMC fame has a winter set. He's also in the process of obtaining some border guard camo.

>>33064025
So you're the nigger that beat me out for that.
Sup, milsurp people. I asked this in another thread and was told to come here. Where do people buy inert ordnance? I've seen reenactors with inert grenades, and I've seen people post collections of inert artillery shells here and on other sites. I googled and the only online stores that don't look sketchy as fuck are in Europe. I would assume that's because people don't want to send inert landmines and spent LAW tubes through the mail for fear of having them confiscated or getting their dog shot over something completely legal because the ATF don't play by their own rules. Where can I score inert ordnance for my milsurp collection? Are there brick and mortar stores specializing in this that I can drive to? Is this something you see a lot at gun shows? Should I go to World War II reenactments with a pocket full of cash and offer guys obscene amounts of money to part with their reenacting supplies? Ebay? I have a special hard-on for Chicom stick grenades and ex-Soviet shit.

>>33073643
I'm not sure I can offer more than moral support given my information will probably be outdated by now, and based on a national health service. Have you considered medical tourism? It might seem like a trivial difference, and it may be surprising since you all well know I'm hardly an SJW, but there's something to be said for body acceptance if it is unhappiness about how parts of you look. >>33079335
You know, it had occurred to me that if most trans-bigender and so on people weren't utterly lost in liberalist gun hating schlock, that would be a viable option. Came to me while watching a protest about some christian in Pakistan who has the death sentence for something relatively minor. They won't care what a bunch of pacifists thinks, but an organised group could actually do something about it. Be a better use of money than a hundred new chest binders for confused teens.
The main issue is the surrounding countries also being culturally the same, unlike say going into Pakistan from China. Lotta ground to cover. Egypt has gone full retard. Iran is actually alright with transitioning people isn't it?

Yes, I agree. The suez authorities are arseholes with small boats apparently. Related to that while I'm fairly sure none of us can fly, I'd judge that there'd be more general knowledge of sailing. Even I looked into it for smuggling reasons. Pirates are a low risk if we were already tooled up anyway. Is it Yemen or Oman the Saudi Military is in? Might be running a gauntlet if it's Yemen.

I'm going to take a stab at this. I can't speak Mandarin or Cantonese and I can't decipher the Hanzi, but the numbers seem easy.
>7.62 is the caliber of the rifle it's for (Chicom chest rigs were made for the Type 56 AK, Type 56 SKS, or Type 81, which are 7.62x39mm).
>Because the Gregorian calendar is the official calendar of the PRC and the Chinese lunisolar calendar is now well into its 4th millenium, 3537 is probably the number of a factory or indicative of this being the 3537th chest rig produced in said factory or in the year of manufacture.
>80 is the year, which would mean that this is either an SKS chest rig or a 3 cell Type 56 AK chest rig, because the 4 cell Type 81 chest rig was introduced with the Type 81 rifle in 1983

>>33089794
A little explanation.
The patch is for the Kaitsepolitsei (lit. "Defense police"), essentially the Estonian FBI. They're a very secretive bunch, so the only known photographs of the insignia in wear are of associated SOF dudes at a training exercise.
Lahingukool (lit. "Battle school") is a military school that trains senior NCOs of all branches. Their identifying tape usually goes over the left pocket, but I've seen limited evidence of guys wearing it on the right side in lieu of a name tape.
>>33089901
>>33089912
素敵だね、帽子がめちゃきれいですよ

I noticed the patch was velcro and was missing the "Politsei" so I figured it was some sort of SWAT thing, that's very neat.
I imagine the patches are hard to find then?
I figured Lahingukool was a name, there was one missing from my parka and I put it over the ghost to fill it in.
The set is pretty damn warm, I was surprised the trousers' liner was sewed in. I'm guessing a later model, it is dated 2006 after all.

Trench has the full set, not sure if he's posted it, I think it's Vietnam's best pattern.
>>33089983
>hard to find
They're certainly far less common than any of the regular police/military patches.
>I was surprised the trousers' liner was sewed in
Formally introduced in early 2006 (though early versions of the design existed since 2002 and were sparingly issued on a trial basis), the final style TTsKO winter uniform did away with the Soviet-derived elements in favor of a sleeker, more Western look. While the jackets continued to have removable padding, the trousers had it permanently attached for some bizarre reason. Maybe they thought nobody in their right mind would ever wear winter pants without the liner? Maybe they were concerned about dumbass conscripts losing the liner? Your guess is as good as mine.
>potential for more rhodie stuff after all
I'm okay with this.

I'm also the Dane who some time ago semipromised to get my hands on a shit load of Danish m/84 milsurp. This wont be happening since they're busy destroying the stuff by the truckloads. FML.

Any of you know how people get into the field of designing and making camouflage? I've always been a bit obsessed with technical fabrics and have wondered how people get into the military side. I assume each country's armed forces have a department for this sort of thing?
>>33091257
I'm in! That said, I'm pulling all strings possible to rescue some, if I can
>>33091381
You'd be better off looking at private companies. God knows what kind of qualifications would be best though, probably some kind of design for industry thing.
>>33091389
I've fucked it already to be honest, I did music technology at university.
I'm thinking of making a portfolio of garments using technical fabrics and trying to get a foot in the door somewhere off the back of that.
>>33091420
Every business ever needs admin staff, could play it that way and when there's an opening see if they'll train you up.
>>33091425
Yeah, that's a decent shout. Going to have a research to see who produces this sort of stuff within the UK - I'm aware of a couple but I don't think any of them are hiring

Here's a review comparing the two major (and best) manufacturers. Find a size chart when you're buying, and double and triple check your size. If you want to wear it as an outer layer, buy your size. If you want to wear it just in your birthday suit or skivvies, buy one size down.
>>33096221
Also, quality yelling at cat segments in this video, so I trust it over any other review.
>>33096221
Whats the actual thinking behind the design of the Gorka? Why the random patches of camo?
>>33096371
ass
>>33096371
Well, initially, it was just designed to be a windproof suit. From what I remember, "gorka" translates to something along the lines of "hill" so a gorka suit is "mountain suit"
In the afghan mountains, the original canvas gorka (Or now, gorka-1) tan worked quite well. I haven't a clue why they only used patches of camo fabric. Now, there are plenty of different versions, and the gorka-5 is usually completely made of camo fabric.
https://www.varusteleka.com/en Anybody buy from these cheeky Finns before? I'm in the US and I can't get through the checkout, something keeps fucking up and it seems like the page just refreshes and doesn't bring me to pay details. They won't respond to my email either. It's got a lot of shit I want and 10$ shipping to US isn't bad at all.
>>33098428
Lots of people order stuff there, are you paying with Paypal?
>>33098428
All the time. Use paypal. also they take up to 48 hours to reply.
>>33098464
The thing is, I get to the part where you write out your address details and tick the Visa box, then I try to confirm the order and the page seemingly refreshes and does nothing.
>>33098480
I've tried ticking both the Visa and PayPal boxes and then confirming but it still just refreshes. I sent an email with my order and hopefully I can complete it that way, crossing my fingers.

Monthly thread reminder that people need to make ACTUALLY DECENT erdl repros. The MM ones are too dark and brown, the pocket flaps are way too small too.
>>33100711
Although their pants are comfy, the adjustment straps don't hold for shit, and they seem to fade rather quickly...
>>33100729
ATE has really great repros, their p42's feel and look great. The web gear like the BAR belt in my previous pic is really awesome. I'm glad I picked a set of the p42 for $70 during the black Friday event.

Milsurp noob here. Are there any decent milsurp rifles I can get for around $200-$300? Preferably something that doesn't have an odd caliber that costs an arm and a leg to shoot.
>>33105804

MdI (Ministry of the Interior)-stamped gear was issued to a number of police organizations.
I have no problem believing that some Stasi guys were indeed issued MdI-stamped kit, but the uniforms and gear purpose-made for them were marked either DDR, NVA or MfS (depending on the specific date and item).
