Hey guys, I have around 50 bucks to spend and I was interested in making a crude DIY melee weapon. Intimidation factor is unnecessary, primarily concerned with effectiveness as this is going to used for home defense not to ward faggots off. All ideas appreciated.

As far as effectiveness, a 12ga slam fire is honestly the most lethal thing you could make for $50.

I would make a nice spear.

My home is actually a large open two room bachelors pad so a spear isn't that ridiculous.

Plus everything I intend on defending is locked in my bedroom with me. So by the time they're inside trying to get in my room I could just get my old home made ballistic shield and shield wall the fucker.

I'm actually pretty fucking dumbfounded that I never thought of just going full on spearman earlier. Now that It was brought to my attention I feel like a fucking idiot.
