I'm 99% sure it's straight cut. He's selling it to me for $600.Comes with a cheap reddot (wont use), roughly 8 mags, original wood furniture and "tactical" furniture.
Considering he has tactical furniture on it currently, I'm assuming its straight cut.

For 5.45 I've got these plus one trench art Tula plum, one trench art true black, two more normal true blacks, and another black ribbed 45 Molot

For 7.62 with me in my apartment I've got five Egyptian, three Polish, and two generic Eastern European, and at my parents house I've got around a dozen Chinese flat backs and around a half dozen generic Eastern European

I definitely enjoy buying and hoarding 5.45 mags considerably more than 7.62 mags

I agree, I love my 5.45 mags more with the exception of aluminum waffles. I don't have plums any more, I feel like I should get some for my 104ur and change the furniture out. I love your collection m8
Also did you have to wait a few weeks for Troy to build your rifle? That happened to me

I dunno I just like 5.45 better. 5.45 magazines look better and have a better looking profile and I like shooting 5.45 more. I'd like to start collecting 7.62 mags eventually but honestly it's a big jump forward considering how many more variations of everything there are with 7.62 mags from every country that produced them. That's money I'd rather spend on ammo or more 5.45 accessories considering I don't really consider myself a collector of 7.62 AK stuff, just a shooter. The most collecting I've done for 7.62 is buy some Egyptian stuff and Egyptian mags for my Maadi and buy a couple of nice new in wrapper Chinese flat backs for my Norinco, and on top of that all when shooting 7.62x39 I still prefer shooting my vz.58 over either of my 7.62 AKs

>>33047608
The Tula trench art plum was the first plum mag I had bought in a few months. I still buy the occasional batch of true blacks from Russia but not as often, last one was in November and although I've gotten the itch to do it again I haven't gotten much variation in mags from there the past few times. I only keep mold numbers I don't have in the best condition or just the occasional really nice looking mag in general, and I've been hoping for some trench art but I've never gotten any in any of my true black batches

>I love your collection m8
Thanks but 2bh tho it really isn't anything special, none of my mags are rare and are all pretty common. I just like what I like and but what I like

And no I had my rifle from Troy in two weeks. It took a week for them to ship and another week for it to arrive. I bought it during SHOT though so I might have just been lucky and beat the traffic

I meant your collection of rifles more than the mags. I think after I get my Vietnam collection done, a crutch folding Maadi is next on the list. I don't really have any rare mags either, the coolest I have is probably these RPK bakes. I have ten true blacks I think. No trench art, and most of them are in the 5x mold number so they're pretty basic. Some are shiny and really smooth, those are my favorite.

For cool factor: vz followed by my FAL and XM177E2 clone

For actual shooting: vz and CZ 452 Ultra Lux for dat dead quiet cheap .22lr out of a 28 inch barrel

>>33047822
I'm kind of wanting an SP1/A1 build to go with the XM but who knows. I'm not sure what my next buy will be or when my next buy will be. I just buy what I think is cool at the time and sell what I'm over with. AKs fit a nice intersection between modern firearms and milsurp, so it appeals to both the shooting side of me and the former milsurp collecting side of me (sold all my milsurp a little over a year ago)

The Maadi is cool but I still haven't fallen in love with it yet. I like it a lot and it's fun to shoot but I just haven't had a moment where it clicks and we really connect. Both my vz and Norinco are more fun to shoot. It's a really cool gun but I'm surprised I still haven't had a real moment where it really grows on me yet, most of the time that happens with new guns pretty quickly and this has been a few months

Do you have anything going towards cutting your 104UR? That's something I considered buying and SBRing for a bit but never bit the bullet

>>33048242
Being super quiet without needing a can

With basic cheap bulk ammo it's more quiet than my .177 pellet rifle
>>
>>33048193
An A1 is what I'm building next. I think I'm about to sell my 6920 and Aimpoint which would just about cover the entirety of the project. I buy/sell based on what I'm interested in at the time too. I've gotten rid of quite a few guns recently. I'm interested in milsurp but I feel like if I got any I wouldn't want to shoot any of them. They'd just sit in my safe taking up space and get fondled occasionallt. If I do get any, it'll be a Garand and an M1 carbine.

Vz 58's are really cool, I want to get one at some point but at the moment it would be another rifle I'd have to stack mags/accessories for. I have plenty of AK and AR mags right now. Your Norinco is a MAK90 right?

>that aren't AKs?
I'll say the my MAS 49/56. I don't know if there's anything especially amazing about what the MAS does, but I just think it's a great looking gun and that makes it more fun based on that alone. It's bolt carrier also has a neat hollow-ish sound when you rack it. Also, it's just fun to send mud flying with 308. A clay pit would be better, but I'd probably lose my shoes or get the ranger stuck if I drove to it. Webm very related, took not more than about 20 mins ago.
The vz58 is my favorite overall rifle out of anything I've handled, but bigger calibers like 308 are still more fun.
I should have my 22cal pellet rifle in the mix too. That's probably the gun I use the most each year by far.

WW was known for some shoddy QC, at 800 you probably over payed a good bit BUT if turns out to be a decent rifle then hey you have a Bulgy 74. Id take it apart and look it over real well and then shoot it but keep a close eye on it as you shoot it.

That's why I got out of milsurp, a safe full of wood and steel that just sat there and got fondled every once in a while. I rarely/never shot any of them and they just took up space. I still like milsurp but i like learning and acquiring knowledge about old service rifles rather than collecting specific examples. It both freed up my safe and my wallet

Nah it's a mid 80s preban, one of only around 1000 imported by this specific importer (Armco) and marked as an "AK47s"

>>33048351
See I'm the opposite, bigger calibers are more fun for a bit for me then they get old quickly after a few mags. I like intermediate calibers because I can consistently shoot them for longer periods without getting burnt out

Although fixed magazine full size caliber military rifles are the best looking IMO. I really really want an FN49 because I think they're one of if not the best looking rifle but I'm not sure if I'd shoot it often enough to justify buying one. I don't want it to just sit in the safe all of its life, and it'll be hard to beat my M1 for a self loading full size caliber military rifle for the fun factor

I wish 7.5 French was available because it it was I'd love to have some shooter frogshit. They're all fantastic rifles and are all really unique and great looking. I know your .308 MAS is fine but I've just heard too many horror stories to ever pick one up

I'm not immune to this either, they're heavier. That's why I said that I like my vz58 more than anything I've ever touched. It's practically toy-light with the 10rd mag. And I have both stock styles, so it's my go-to rifle for vehicles or just trudging around. And 762x39 has the minimum amount of power to be really fun for me.
>I've just heard too many horror stories to ever pick one up

Single stack mags. So 5rd mags are about as long as 10rd mags should be.
That's about it, other than the fact that 20c/r 54r surplus is done for the foreseeable future.
The rest is more subjective, like whether you like a sporter style ak or not.

Fun of it, pissing people off is nice too. They've just added up over the years. They will dry up, I've got 70 G3 mags, should have bought more.

I need some of those 8/10 rd vepr mags. It's a shame factory 5 rounders are so expensive.

I've only sold one mag I've ever received, it was a factory 10 round glock mag that came with my Sub2000. I used the money to buy a standard capacity mag.

Better get your grinder out then. 545's are a little tougher, you need to make the middle area where the cartridges slide over deeper than the edges. The 556 mags work fine the second you grind off enough not to contact the bullet guide. Maybe it's just my gun, but the bullet guide presses a lot lower into the 545 mag, which is why I hollow that area out more.
Pic related, one done, one to go on my 556 conversion.

Yeah, it's the Saiga tube. At the time there were two railed gas tube options: the Ultimak or the (then) recently released MI rails. I decided not to get either one because I like to remove it for easy cleaning. So I got the Ultimak lower rail and called it good.

It's a great little gun, easily the best firearm impulse buy I've ever made. I saw a carbine version on display at a local gun store in August and immediately wanted one based on how similar it looked to the XM8 alone. The fact that it's a 9mm carbine (which I had been wanting for a while at that point) and scales down well to an SBR sealed the deal.

Dirty as hell since it's a direct blowback action, though.

>>33053357

He's 11 weeks old and a pure bred from two working ranch herding dogs. His name is Indiana or Indy for short. I wanted to name him Tula but my wife wasn't too keen on the name

My cats are very slowly warming up to him, but he doesn't care about any cats being around at all, he just wants to play and sit on laps

I can say with certainty that I know more Vietnamese people in the US than I do any other race. I've been around them almost constantly for the past four years. I can tell you about a dozen "my Lai" (half-breeds) people that are batshit insane or have some type of serious life issues that their full breed contemporaries don't. It's not even a meme, I've witnessed it. Half-breeds are 10x more susceptible to pyschological issues, drug related problems and other issues.

>charter school
Not making six figures a year man, don't know many people who can fund private school for their kids. In Vietnam I could, but that's different.

>Gook wife leaves because "muh babbys".
No sweat. I have regular nightmares about my girlfriend who I've still not gotten over. I'd have gave my life for her. I had to leave to a 3rd world country just to be able to go somewhere that kept me from thinking of her as often . I'll never feel the same again, nobody will be able to hurt me that way again, and in that way I am truly free. I love my wife but not nearly as much as I love myself.

It's not that expensive unless you have like three kids all around the same age.

An Australian Shepard was a close second (they're wonderful dogs) but we wanted a border collie and lucked out when we found one in the newspaper at a perfect timing. Herding breeds are my favorite, they just look great, behave great, are super smart and are very loyal

One of my old coworkers had an older Australian Shepard and he was a great dog. He never wore a leash and was extremely obedient. He'd walk alongside my coworker and sit when he stopped walking, and with a stern command he'd stop whatever he was doing to obey

>>33054204
>But I do have a faint recollection of 26 being a potential true black mold number.
would they have just not bothered to replace the mold number when reusing old molds? Do you have any idea around when in the mold number sequence they switched from plums to true blacks? My earliest true black is 45 and my latest Izhmash plum is 41 (haven't gone though many plums and haven't gone out of my way for specific mold numbers, that's just one I've got) so it's got to be around those numbers, unless they kept precious mold numbers like you said
>>
>>33054288
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I have one just like that. Smoother texture and mold 26 sounds correct as well. Later on they changed to the more magpul-y texture you're used to.

>>33054289
>would they have just not bothered to replace the mold number when reusing old molds?
That would completely defeat the purpose of having mold numbers. The mold number is to mark the magazine with the mold that it came from. There is overlap in the mold numbers, you can find plums and true blacks from the same molds.

You obviously don't have kids bro, or don't know shit about private schools and what kids need. I'm actually around my wife's family a lot. I've got no problems with him or his wife, nor have I ever seen him randomly come in with paragraphs of problems. And if he does in the future I won't really care either, you're allowed to have a little empathy for people even if you only know them through the chan

I absolutely am an autistic fuck, and the extra $150 for a PSO-3 is nothing to me.

My goal is to build my Vepr 54r into a sort of Slavic analogue to the G3S/G-1. A little bit sniper, a little bit battle rifle.

I already re-profiled my bolt to accept my stash of CS Specs 10-rd mags. The 54r look with those massive bananas gives me major wood.

What's a good trigger group upgrade? The stock one feels a little coarse for my liking.

Assuming you're trying to use only true slav military things. The entire POSP line to my knowledge is manufactured for sale to civilians

The government fucks up everything as usual and places children in need with scum. Vietnam is a little different, those resources aren't really there for people to abuse, so it's often obvious if someone is looking for someone to abuse, or if they are genuine and have the resources to help an unfortunate individual. I used to teach English at a few schools but I also would tutor college and highschool aged kids for free if they were legit and didn't have much money and were desperately trying to use whatever English language skills they had in hopes to get an advantage and get a job in the city one day.
