I don't know much about guns so I was hoping for some info on what manufacturer makes this and what you think the value would be? My neighbor sent me this picture asking for $700 but I haven't the clue if it'd be worth owning

It looks like a homebuild. AR15 parts are mostly standardized so theyre quite easy to assemble from parts. If its a parts gun, ask for a list of components. Just from one pic, i doubt its worth $700 desu. Unless its got some high quality conponents, id pass. Ill also wager a guess and predict that your neighbor will say something like "i have $1400 into it!"

For $700 you could do better.

Ehhhhhhhh depending on the base model it's probably not a shitty deal, honestly. My frankenbuild ended up at $1200 all said and done.

That fucker is in dire need of a less-ugly handguard though. Jesus christ.

What >>33037785 says
ask your neighbor who made it and we can figure out a better assessment.
>>
Really depends on how badly you want an AR-15 $700 is probably about exactly its face value with the plus that you'll be able to pay in cash F2F. See if you can shoot it first and try to talk him down to $600 cash would be my advice
>>
If He doesn't want to list all the parts, at least ask for barrel and receiver manufacture
>>
>>33037704
If the scope is nice and the parts are good enough then ya, just buy it.

Thank you for all the replies what's the tier system in terms of parts? I just want to do my research but need a point in the right direction
>>
It's a 24", non free floated AR that's been derpacoated or spraypainted. You can build one new for less than $500 from PSA parts.
