What do you think of compact 1911's?

Just get a Mustang.

they're generally unreliable, hard to control, and are overpriced.
If you're gonna get a 1911, get a government length model
horrible things that ruin everything good about the 1911. if you must carry a 1911 cause you really love the 1911 just carry a govt. they arent small. the only thing they are small compared to is 1911s. a glock 17 has the same size profile as a office. longevity is a real issue youd be lucky to pass 1k without replacing parts to keep it functional.

1911's should only come in govt size and 45 acp. After that you start down the reliability hill.

Go commander instead, you mong.

But that's wrong. Compact 1911s do better with smaller caliber rounds because the feed geometry isn't horrible.
Parts do wear faster put people figured out bull/bell barrels, dual recoil springs and 9mm make things a lot better.
The smallest I would ever consider is a Stinger.

Less lenght and more stupid than the full size 1911
They aren't as small as every assumes before seeing them in person, but you have to consider where that size comes from and the tradeoffs as well as how a particular compact 1911 is setup.

I've got a SIG officer 1911 and it's okay
I carry it sometimes but it's as wide as my g19, grip is same length as g19 and barrel is only slightly shorter yet I get a whopping 7+1 capacity and it weighs more
It's hard to justify an officer 1911 in this day and age
