it's alright, but cable scifi shows tend to have shit endings because their writers ran out of good ideas.

like Falling Skies. which was a great SHTF alien invasion series. Until it was obvious they had no idea on how to end it and it looks like they got shorted a season or two.

the hosts are converting people in the blocs into well, hosts. so they can repopulate on the Earth as humans.

the main character will find his missing son, but he will be converted already. then eventually the converted son will help them defeat the evil alien plot.

Whats it about? Half of us don't have telescreens so we're in the dark

good shit. As with Coral on TwD the kid is the first one I'd kill. Colony is about an invasion of elusive but poerful aliens who were discovered by lunar missions on the far side of the moon. It's not about shootouts with ayyyes though - the aliens set up a "government" run be hand picked ppl. It's more a human drama looking into what people will do to people.

doubtful. the show is based on books and while they don't overlap 1:1, Zack is the protagonist. nuking the city because you're butthurt over your dad killing your vampire mom in self defense is asinine.

Not OP but I really enjoy it - set in LA occupied by human collaborators. Very few humans have any sort of contact with the Ayys, direct or indirect. Resistance typically gets BTFO every time they make a move, which adds to the tension. Strong Iraq vibes from everything. Nice balance of mystery, action and a bit of family drama.

The Red Hats (occupation forces with red helmets) are /fa/ as fuck.

op here. the great hing about this show is that the two protagonists, husband and wife, are sort of fighting the invasion but mostly they are out to protect themselves and their family and in doing so are killing "friends" left and right. I think that's one of the major lessons of SHTF. k loves to stress the importance of numbers for SHTF but reality is, in SHTF you can't trust anybody. your brother will sell you out as soon as he needs your stash of antibiotics for his kids.

FS was mentioned itt already. not the same. I could never get over the fact that the main hero was the cdoc kid from ER who later became a heroin addict and that the 2nd mess was run by General Bethlehem. it wasn't a bad show per se but it was badly executed. you can't make believable aliums with that kind of budget. I hope Colony doesn't make the mistike and overdoes alien contact. the one time we saw an aye they actually fucked up pretty good. it was cheap chinashit and bad CGI.
