So here I am watching the hit TV show V.I.P.E.R., about a Viper with guns on it and it hits me.

Militaries need sportscars. With guns on them. What needs to be done to make this happen?

Pic related was a aid vehicle during the Balkans War.

1st pic is a 2nd gen camaro. I have a 1981 z28.

So Mercedes sells bulletproof sports cars.

Ever since I found that out, I've been fantasizing about buying several nondescript houses in a major metropolitan area, and shuffling between them in unpredictable routes, at unpredictable times, never sleeping in the same bed two nights in a row.

I just need somebody to try and kill me while I do it.

I was just watching the VBIED thread and seeing the regular cars dodge armor and weapons fire really made my neurons fire. There is definitely something to be said about mobility.
Also, PMC contractors in "soft" cars (normie cars no armor) were often inconspicuous and therefore safe.
However there was a point in Iraq when Mohammad and friends decided that the plain clothes guys in cars were CIA and started hunting them specifically.
I've always thought about how good smaller armored cars would be in urban warfare.
I think a sports car would be overkill and too expensive. Think vans and SUVs

lol, watching the vbied thread too. The main problem with opr8ng in an urban environment with vehicles is that threats can come from anywhere. The only way to keep vehicles safe in an Urban area is with dismounted infantry. No matter if it is a humvee or an Abrams.

Sports cars would be cool and even successful if used by Mohammad as a vbied. Anything else is just useless. What you were saying about SUV's and Vans going incognito does work until they figure out that all the Black SUVs are being driven by PMC's or CIA. Big business in the arms industry is catching on to this though by coming out with civilian vehicles that are secretly up-armored and have weapon mounts for SF and PMC's in Asymmetric style conflicts.

Yes, a late 2nd Gen, 78-81 like yours.

I prefer 70-73, though I'm more into Firebirds.
