Depends on the purpose of your rifle. The Aimpoint PRO, however, is indeed top shelf glass
>>

no

The Vortex Sparc II
>>
>>33028109
Why do people still get this when the MD-ADS is a thing?
>>
>>33028073
>>33028073

I'm not a "hardcore operator", just like to have an all around good AR that can fill most roles. Range fun, shooting innawoods, home defense, shtfwtrolbbqlmao etc

Other suggestions I've gotten:

Trijicon MRO (half the size and weight but not an aimpoint and a little more expensive)

Used T1/H1/comp m2 (could be nice but don't see any local ones and seems like a lot of extra effort to find one)
>>
>>33028109
>>33028109

I've looked into the SPARC/2, PA AD MDS and the Bushnell TR but I've got a nice locally built custom AR with pretty decent specs and don't want to cheap out on a Chinese knockoff
>>
>>33028042
Trijicon MRO. The Aimpoint PRO is good but heavy and bulky as fuck.
>>
>>33028165
I have a SPARC II and for the price it is a great red dot. Despite being made in China it is pretty durable too.

>>
>>33028209

That's what I've been debating for a few weeks now. The MRO is smaller and lighter (and also more A E S T H E T H E T I C) but a little pricier and doesn't have the track record of the PRO and aimpoint in general. The MRO does have a more common battery and is easier to adjust (don't need tools, bullet casing, etc) but is also a bit pricier and some people have complained about parallax, tint, fisheye effect, etc
>>
>>33028133
>Muh Aimpoint!
>>
>>33028233

I usually follow the mindset of "buy once cry once" and while I'm not knocking the SPARC, I know that these optics cost more for a reason (and not just brand name). I can't really afford a nice ACOG or similar soml I'm trying to find a good middle ground between the two ends

Do you wear glasses? Because if you have astigmatism a red dot might not be your best option.
If you are willing to wait untill spring the new Vortex Razor amg uh-1(pic related) is coming out.
The MSRP is 699, however you can already preorder them for 500 bucks
>>
>>33028335

No, I have never work glasses or contacts. I have pretty good eyesight and still young so hopefully that doesn't change any time soon
>>
Aim surplus currently has a sale on PROs for $381.00 with Free shipping after using a coupon code. Only valid for 2 more days. I think this makes the decision very very easy for me
>>
>>33028042
I have a aimpoint t2 thats sits around as a paperweight after discovering i prefer 1-6x scopes. I found out i couldnt group smaller than 5 inches at 50+yds using red dots, i think because of my eyes. Once i got the scope i was able to adjust it for my eyes and i can shoot sub inch groups at 100yds.
>>
>>33028042
Burris AR-332 is nice.
>>
>>33028514

Whats the coupon code?

what does this do that the SPARC doesn't?
>>
>>33028259
>ACOG

Why do people still care about these things? They fucking suck and the eye relief is garbage. Get a 1x6 if you must but please, it's not 2004 anymore.
>>
>>33028042
You should pay 360 for it and nothing more. Wait for a sale.
>>
>>33028335
I have astigmatism and with glasses on the dot looks fine. Your glasses should correct for your astigmatism
>>
>>33028150
>Trijicon MRO (half the size and weight but not an aimpoint and a little more expensive)

aimsurplus had them for $440

I bought one from them for $400 w/o mount and spent another $100 on a Geissele Precision mount, love it.

Unfortunately, my eyesight is not what it used to be from all of the cum that has got in my eyes. Stop being a flaming queer and answer the fucking question.

>Trijicon MRO
this was enough
>(half the size and weight
and also cheaper most cases too
>but not an aimpoint
your opinion is discarded if you're hung up on getting the brand name you heard will make you look cool. aimpoints last forever but the mro is just as durable and to boot uses clearer glass
>and a little more expensive)
alternative facts

I'm looking at getting the Vortex Spitfire x1, it's etched so during daylight you can just use it without turning it on or you can use it as a red dot. 400 msrp but I found it for 190 shipped after a discount, anyone ever have one? It's going on a 16inch midlength PSA build.

congrats on the purchase. I just happened to look at the aim website after making this thread and found the coupon, feel lucky

>>33030559

I just bought the PRO for $381 with no shipping/tax. cheapest I could find the MRO was on OP for $493. thats a $100 difference
>>
>>33028042
DI Optics RV1/2 are pretty comparable at a lower price range

As a poorfag with a $60 bushnells microdot what am I missing out on?
>>
>>33028133
Ignorance usually, at least that's the best explanation I can find for people paying more for drastically less battery life and a less crisp reticle.
>>
>>33030170
astigmatism
