Alright I'll bite. I've got so many folding knives and fixed blades, that I really don't count them... With the exception of Cold Steel Shanghai Shadow and Cold Steel XL G-10 Espada.
But pic related is my sword like things. A Hanwei Raptor Katana, Cold Steel Cutlass Machete, and a Cold Steel Chines War Sword Machete.
I have a Valiant Armoury Rhinelander (long sword) on order currently. Should be a month or so before I get it.
are knives ok to post?
Just inherited a WWII vintage katana from my grandpa. I usually don't care much for weeb stuff. But this is nice.

That sounds very nice, share some pictures?
>>33011170
Is that a cold steel tomahawk? I'm thinking of getting one.
>>33011300
Wow very nice, you are lucky.
>tfw only own wall hangers
Is there anything out there that has utility use that would double as a good close range wep?
>>33011300
Thank you!
It's kind of growing on me, and I may have more coming my way. My grandpa was a collector and he had a ton of them. A fair amount of older and exotic blades. Even an old c96 with the stock/holster that has a German Empire eagle printed on it. Pic related.
I honestly feel like this belongs in a museum.

Holy shit. That's in almost perfect condition
Why do HEMA fags never practice with full sized shields? It blows my mind.
for me its the fairbairn sykes, the ultimate fighting knife
>>33011300
You should take all of the fittings off and see who it was made by. Sometimes ancestral swords where converted for military use.
>>33011330
Sure.
>>33010099
Leta say I want to own tomahawk which is not meme tier and could be even used as an axe (with using brqin of course not going full chopping down oaks mode)
What should I do ?
Buy one kr try to jury-rig something from an axe ?
>>33010099
Checked mah dude
Pic is my machete and iguana, plan on weaponizing him
>>33011518
There are some practices of HEMA with full kite shields, but it's a lesser practiced style. The thing about HEMA is that it is in it's early stages, it's completely built around the longsword because there is the most historical information on how they were used. As more info on other weapons are found, HEMA integrates it.

Very good plan, I fully support this
>>33011771
My grandpa took care of that. He told me that the swordmaker worked back around the 1500's. So it presumably was a family sword that was refitted with WWII time furniture when the son went to war.

kek
>>33010963
Is that cutlass machete good? I've been wanting one for a while now
>>33014778
Yeah I like it. It is very weight forward, 5 1/2 inches from guard, but light enough to be manageable still. And the edge from factory is rough, it's actually sharp, but will benefit from sharpening, and the edge holding is average I would say.
And the thing is a tank, Cold Steel machetes in general are extremely durable do to their softer spring temper. I've used and abused my Cutlass Machete for two summers now, hitting much larger branches than a machete should, and at must I got a little edge damage from glancing off and hitting a rock once (pic related).
If you are looking for more of a sword and less of a machete though, do consider the Condor Naval Cutlass.
Got this for shits and giggles. Kinda pointless from a purely practical standpoint, but it's cool.
>>33016326
>Kinda pointless
That's normal for a sabre, you want points get a rapier.
>but it's cool
That's because the thermal conductivity of metal is higher than that of your body.
>>33011084
>are knives ok to post?
What do you think /k/ originally stood for?
>>33011518
Because there's no treatises about full sized shields but those strange duelling shields.
Biggest shield you have treatise for are rotella, basically some sort of targe.
>>33016887
ugh
>>33011518
Because sword and buckler combo is cool.
Thanks dude
>>33014419
Lucky fucker. You got a real one not stamped pot metal.

Don't have a picture right now but my uncle that served in the navy as a signalmen in ww2 gave me his service knife and a Prussian cavalry saber from the 1800's for doing an oil change on his car. The metal is nice on the sword, has wax or something on it. I didn't wanna clean it and screw it up so I just left it. He said that he and his brother were garbage men at one point and when they were picking up the trash on the curb there was a sword sitting there. Mine looks like the top one.
