Obviously the Mauser.

Mauser, even comparing just the Mauser 1891 to the Mosin 1891.
>>
Mauser duh.
>>
The Mauser is the definitive bolt action, period.
>>
>>33003691
mauser. fuck commies.
>>
>>33003691
Mausers are better made.

Mosins have a wider variety of ammunition available.
>>
>>33003691
I prefer my mosin as a shooter. I like manipulating the bolt more and beating on it to get it from place to place even though it's pretty smooth.
I like the irons slightly better on the mauser, and think it's better looking.
>>
>>33003914
>Mosins have a wider variety of ammunition available.
Uh. What?

Mausers came in:
8mm
7mm
6.5
7.65
6.5
6.5x58
7.62x51
.30-06

I think he means a wider variety of ammunition still in manufacture (because it's still in service with so many countries), not variety of caliber.
>>
>>33003691

That depends which Mauser and which Mosin.
>>
>>33003691
They're essentially equal. Stop making this thread every day.
>>
>>33004635

Yeah I'd rather take a Finnish nugget than a Spanish Mauser but then again the price difference is significant.
>>
You gotta be kidding me. Mauser hands down.

Are you fucking serious? Mauser, every single time.

The mosin is nice and all for a pipe slapped to some wood and given a magazine, but in terms of operation and smoothness, Mauser is better in all regards. And I love slavshit.
>>
Noone here going to even think about anything other than 91/30s?

M39.

>Mauser action is the most common type of bolt-action in the world, almost all bolt-guns use it
You tell me
>>
>>33003691
No one who's used both would seriously prefer the Mosin.

I'm a giant slavaboo too.
>>
>>33007471
What if I prefer the Mosin because I like the caliber?
>>
>>33007471
Between the two I prefer Mosins generally.

Shocker

>>33007732
That doesn't make the gun or action any better, especially when there are numerous Mausers chambered in extremely similar calibers

All of you except Chimps, Zasta, and Flandre, I swear.

See >>33007456

If the Mosin-Nagant action was worth a shit compared to the Mauser it would still be in use in modern bolt actions. It's not.
>>
>>33007958
Except no, that's not how military procurement or manufacturing work. So it is a hollow argument.

Its complete absence across the board (even in countries under the Russian sphere of influence) in new-production firearms speaks volumes.

Welcome to every mosin/mauser related thread. Memes and retards who lack knowledge about any variants other than the 91/30 and k98, let alone design details or the ability to objectively compare the two.

Mausers are the most common action because the west made copies of the Mauser action, such as the 1917 enfield and 1903 Springfield. US gun makers aren't going to tool up to make mosin actions because they already have the machinery for Mauser actions. I mean, why the fuck would they? Both the mosin and Mauser do the same job

No they didn't. They might have bought or been given millions, but other than Russia, they didn't make a single one.
>>
>>33008183
>Eastern countries that turned out mosins by the million

Oh, you mean one country, Russia

Really activates my almonds
>>
>>33008192
If you actually use Mausers description of his action then almost nobody uses it.
The 1903 and P14 might be inspired but th ebolt face and lugs are completely different from Mausers design. The 1903 copied the extractor, magazine and clips while the P14 only copied the extractor.
>>
>>33008192
Because of two primary things. 1, as already mentioned, the manufacturing base is built much more heavily around the Mauser. And 2, new production bolt action rifles appeal primarily to sports shooters, who are better served by the Mauser action because of things like the safety, and controlled feeding. The Mauser is also more adaptable to different calibers, further increasing its appeal to sportsmen. In the context of a general issue infantry rifle however, those features mean far, far less.

>Modern Russian bolt-actions don't use the Mosin-Nagant design either
>>
>>33008192
The vast majority of modern bolt actions are not related to the mauser with the exception of two forward locking lugs, which was stolen from the lebel. A few are controlled feed and actually somewhat mauser related. It would be tough to find a modern bolt action that shares more features with the mauser
>>
>>33008274
Not an argument, as Russians like to copy shit from westerners. (See: 5.45 and various Russian camos) The finns still use rifles built from mosin receivers
