Can any former military answer this? Are officer's swords, specifically American officer's swords legit? Are the actually viable swords or just wall hangers? Are their any countries that actually do use legit swords? Also post officer's swords if you can.

They're decorative only. Depending on when supply orders them, some are better than others but they're still only like 200 dollars.

Called a Malimuke (SP?) Sword. Presented to Lt. Prestley O'Bannon but the Sulton of something or other, after the Marines took out the Barbary Pirates near Tripoli, Libia

My grandfather retired from the Marines in 1974 as a Lt. Col. He had a sword that we still have in the family. My cousin got it when Granddad passed away. I don't know if they still issue them any more.
